Eve "Not Responding" and after loading the launcher doesn't do anything ... !

Hey up,

Im currently away from home and I need to update my skills and get a few more contracts up before my flight time runs out. So I downloaded Eve onto my brothers crappy laptop ... now Im not expecting it to run on anything other than the lowest of the low settings but after installing the game all I get is the icon on the taskbar and if I go to click it it does nothing... the only thing I can do is right click and end it... which then it comes up with the "not responding" thing.

I've read that a few people (well... allot) have had issues with the new launcher so I tried some of the steps to no avail. I've not tried to redownload the entire thing.. but it took me 4 hours before and don't want to do it again unless I have to.

Just have got some pictures here linked up, as they help!

Launcher opens all okay and the validating client thing worked okay: Launcher Screen
I click PLAY it just opens something on the bottom taskbar: Taskbar picture

Then nothing.... it doesnt do anything. I press it and all I can do is close it, and then I get this:

nothing....

Is this the same thing other people experiencing? Or is this somethign different... Any ideas?

EDIT: Now I decided, for some reason, to try and start the game with the command line "-swindow" and now a big black box pops up and loads things but stops where you see here... nothing happens after this:

Interesting problem. Without actually being at the computer, I'm not sure, but it sounds like the laptop itself may not be able to handle EVE. Have you tried to run the repair program? Have you ran EVE successfully on that laptop before?
