Outside of the exploration changes I like a lot of what is being changed.

The exploration changes however, might be the straw that breaks the camels back, for me and Eve.

CCP's Motto: If it isn't broken, break it. If it is broken, ignore it. Improving NPE / Dynamic New Eden

I tend to not pass judgement on an expansion until I've actually experienced it. So no actual love or hate at this point.

I am cautiously optimistic though.

Considering that the theme is exploration... it's funny that the best stuff (of which there is a lot) is the non-exploration stuff.

The exploration gameplay stuff is ... meh. Waiting for the potential improvements in Odysse 1.1 and 1.2 that might improve it to okay/good (esp. making the mini-game somewhat interesting).

The best stuff is - as usual - that a lot of stuff moves from broken to working

  • POS improvements
  • cancellation of corp. jobs/role changes
  • tech
  • tagging hotkeys
  • sec status fixing (no need for sec status ratting, while providing income for those in lowsec who like to do it)
  • quite a bit more
.

I appreciate the continuing ship balancing and quite like most visual and UI fixes of which there are a lot, including a few quite hidden ones ppl should appreciate on patch day (and yes, that includes the UI/visual changes that got done in the name of the exploration revamp, those are actually nice, unlike the exploration gameplay changes).

tldr: Overall, I am reasonably happy. It isn't a truly great expansion, though.

It's like, if you have tested some of the new stuff on sisi, over the last couple
weeks...you get used to em. So when you log onto TQ...you feel smaller.

You just want to crawl back onto SiSi again, where the grass is more green atm Blink

Im sure it will feel all fresh and shiny in the beginning.

And my rebalanced Phoon is wrecking havoc, so I like it alot Cool

what else do you expect? more systems? pandaria?

anything added to the game will be a rebalance at this point, and any change will have its consequences. moon goo and ice changes alone already changed the game... TEST found themselves sitting on a gold mine, and everyone wants it. and as far as ice goes, the effect will take a few months to be felt on null, but just wait until the logistics crew of any mayor alliance finds a racial isotope dwindling.

any self respecting Sov holding alliance knows that their backbone is the Pos logistics chain.

im just sad that CCP keeps kicking the ball forward... because we know, and they know, that they will have to devote one or two full development cycles to the inner workings of POSes and stations. there's a million features that cannot be added because they are being built around a system that's now ten years old.

At the moment the negatives with regards Odyssey are far outweighing the positives for me. The complete lack of comprehension of how players actually play the game with the existing mechanics, added to the ignorance shown with regards to SiSi feedback, as well as what can only be described as an exploration nerf, will probably be enough for me to take a break from Eve and view from the outside to see what develops.

In the end, they may have gone overboard with the scanning revamp, but beyond that, the only bad thing about an otherwise awesome expansion is that I'll have to rewrite the newbie skill plan.

(Ok, so it's actually already done and waiting to be auto-published on patch day, but still… that was an awful lot of EVEMon-fiddling-around P)

I refuse to call this patch "an expansion".

I do think the new expansion really benefits relatively newer players like me. I am almost a year old in a few days, and the scanning changes are great, and encouraging me to get into scanning; it's come to the point where I can fly most ships with ease, and the new training specialization will help me focus on one goal and complete more useful prerequisites.

All in all, while not seemingly as jam-packed with features, it seems that CCP is working on the polish of the game, now. They're done building the car, now all that's left is the paintjob...

This is a big expansion with huge changes. I think its alot for the community to swallow in one gulp but over all it will settle down after the economic shock wave that sets in passes. hold on to your butts your all gonna be in for a hell of a ride P

Expansion is good but -100% on anomalies and Ice BIG FALL
Riliy anomalies ice in anomalies really CCP Ice is the MANE FULL WATER for the survival

OK but still CCP did you ever tinck Orca slow if you find ice in different system for a example you fund ice (If you fund ice in anomalies) 5-10 jumps for a example ORCA SLOW AGEN SLOW and + mining barges to move them there

One, I tinck you need to pot Jump drives on Orca and mining ships sow they can move faster.
Two, im not a big fan on scanning + I do not have time to luck for anomalies. (some people worck you now.)

and that is all for now i do Apo, for may bad enaglisg do Sad

but i age on this It isn't a truly great expansion.
