Revamped starbases and what you would do with them

Notice: This thread is not a request, debate, or otherwise about adding revamped modular starbases to the game, because honestly, they are already coming. Eventually. Instead, this thread is about what you would personally do with them that you wouldn't do with current starbases.

For the purposes of this argument, let's assume that starbases would basically do whatever they can currently do as well as what stations can currently do, are scalable, are relatively cost effective at anything they can do, can be placed anywhere and can be made public.

What would you do with them?

Everything since you decided to give them everything with cost effectiveness. I don't see what is to discuss here

I might pull out my long shelved plan to run a multiplayer industrial corp if I could get rid of all the current problems with sharing POS labs and hangars. Heck, if we get a usable refinery I might even go back to wormhole space.

Mining is cost effective. In fact, it has an infinite profit margin if you don't die and don't use mining crystals.

Now, as we all know, not everyone still mines...

Um, read the 160 page threadnaught? Pretty much every idea under the sun was said and repeated there.
