Why not? I've given away more than that in the past for no reason at all, other than I wanted to.

Well, I spent some time perusing the bazaar.

Quite a few nauseatingly bad characters in there. Wow.

I wouldn't know how to answer this really. I would do what I hadn't done yet, but with a game like Eve, how would you know.

I'm looking into the Roleplay side of the game, as after nearly 9 years I've never done it. There was a comparable marketing problem a few years ago with a pair of competing pasta sauces. A contractor was brought in to find the killer flavour of pasta sauce as the competition was too entrenched, and even at blind testing they were better than the market leader, but established.

The approach was to create the best pasta sauces, plural, not best sauce. Dozens of iterations on composition later 3 dominant strains were found, original, spicy and chunky. Chunky didn't even exist, and a third of the customer base wanted it, it was an unknown unknown.

Thats what I would do, you know what you have done, you know what you haven't done, but it is that unknown unknown that is where the thrill comes from.

So, where have you been already?

Quitting in 2008, early in the year IIRC, puts me behind most of the newer developments. I did the nullsec empire bit, blobbed with ye old kitchen sink bs fleets, manufactured for the corp while I was out there, got space-rich building some T2 stuff. vOv

I know that I want nothing to do with corp or POS management and mandatory stratops, but that's about it.

I would suggest outfitting a few ships and looking up hisec mercenary corporations. some of the most fun I've had is with a corporation called Royal Hiigaran Navy. Hisec wars I found have a higher tempo, lower fleet size. Once there you can branch out to plug in the gaps with your industrial expertise to make sure you are cash positive.

Alternatively, do what I said above, but bankroll your own mercenary corporation, with your capital and a few close contacts (say 5 minimum after flying with other pvp groups) and make your name like that.

Hope that helps.

Corey you've done it again, I had to laugh at this.

Of course the bonus is, if you ever did leave again then at least they wouldn't be hounding you to come back.

I would use the throw away alt to get into a corp, pleading innocence and plex for where the iskies came from, then have fun awoxing the corp that let you in while you train a new toon up to which you transfer all your goodies to after awoxing. I would suggest the New Order as a suitably fun target. Good luck

Fund small nullsec wars.

If I was F90OEX (or F9O0EX... can never get the O0 or 0O order right) back when he had 4 trillion liquid I would do exactly that. Nullsec would burn forever.

Feel free to throw any ISK at me. I would smartbomb pods in highsec in your honor.

Buy a character, join said friends corp and weasel your way into director status. Drop said friend from director's role, sell off everything and taunt him till he ragequits. Now ask for your character back as he's not using it anymore anyway.

Or just play eve...

I went through something similar recently (came back after burning/boring out). Stay away from whatever you were doing before you left. Or, if you can't, at least keep it to a minimum.

You should not need to do any PvE for the foreseeable with that much ISK (or even a tenth of it given how easy it is to turn a profit). Think about what keeps this game growing despite the awful missions (hint, it involves other players).

If you did not PvP before, start now with a young character. T1 frigates will teach you as much as larger, expensive ships since you will find so many more fights. And you really have to be on the ball since the fights go sooo fast. Great fun.

So come to lowsec and let me shoot you (or get shot by you) - you can keep the iskies.

Use the money to slowly worm your way into a large corporation via altruistic acts. Be helpful, friendly and talkative and do your best to befriend your 'superiors' (but never outshine them, make them look better because of your actions instead!). Then once you've fully established yourself at the top of the food chain, slowly instigate discontent in the lower ranks against the current leadership via alts. To do this, you'll be tearing apart every decision the leadership have made in the past, pointing out every flaw and blaming it squarely on the upper echelons of leadership (subtly avoid criticizing your main and the person who happens to makes the most mistakes, so you have a scapegoat if the need arises).

Then once the corp is rallied against their leadership, lead a coup de'tat and take on the role of the 'reluctant' king, stepping up to take the 'heavy' burden of leadership. And why would you want to do this? Well you'd be proving to yourself that you could be diabolical if you wanted to, outsmarting and outplaying everyone in your way! It'd be like your own rule the world plan Twisted. And once you're the leader, you could help out your RL friend by forming an alliance and trying to carve out of a piece of the universe for yourself.

Or you could just use your money to fund a pure PvPer and blow things up while doing 20 minutes of trading each week for lots of profit :P.

Friends have been taunting me for years to get back into the game and my willpower has now given out, so here I am. Anyhow, I have to start over because I sold my character to a friend before I left. It is now his main (with which he runs a small corp) so I feel as though asking for her back would be rather rude and in any case, not in the cards for me.

So my situation is thus: I have around ~50 billion in liquid isk, another ~10 bil (rough estimate) in various assets which I kept on a throw-away alt and I am looking to re-establish myself.

I know there's no right or wrong answer, but I'm quite curious to know what you would do?

500 million isk to the answer that I find the most insightful or amusing. ;)
