When they take away local chat, space will become much more mysterious in New Eden - null, low, and high.

All that will do is further drive people out of null and low and into highsec where it won't matter.

Meh, just combine it with a savage nerf to high income and massive buff to null income, and it'd be fine.

I think there would be more chance of all forms of income generation being removed from low and nullsec than that happening.

I saw a mad ani stream last night of a tidi meet in delve. Perhaps go there?

2/10 I almost responded to this.

immediate local is a double edged sword and it cuts the less organised visitors more than the established people with intel channels. i don't really care what they do with local in null because w-space exists but requiring active scanning would probably make it safer for the average player.

no need to be a jebend m7

w-space exists and it's both tougher and safer than null.

and far more rewarding for the average gronk in space who puts the effort into staying safe. that's the key difference in the local issue

i'm all for removing local, just gotta jack the reward for the added risk and effort (which will never happen)

my point was really that anyone with a cloak is utterly ambiguous without local. unless they're dumb enough to not rename their ship or you caught them on grid you have no idea if they're logged in even. I think darwin would effectively determine the 'average player' on that low criteria

So no amount of nerfing high sec or buffing null can fix the income problem then unless we changes the "rules" and make ship loss not matter. Does this revelation mean we will no longer see thread about that?

Who am I kidding, of course the threads won't stop...

Nerfing high sec income would bring more people into null because it would be worth it.

Is it really about the income? I don't think so. It's more about the "stigma" of null-sec. Being a mindless drone, working to make others rich. I felt the same way, quite ignorantly.

Then with some luck I gave it a try, and landed in a fantastic null sec corporation. It's been nothing short of awesome. I believe the real problem is that many like to play eve mostly solo, with the corp being a glorified chat room. It's much more difficult to try to do that, in null sec, because all you have is each other.

And most empire dwellers are happy with this mostly solo existence, just as I was.

Because they don't know there is something better.

Well to be honest its because most corporations are full of retards. I've joined a couple different corps both on my main and on infiltration alts out of the dozen or two corps I've been in, the only one I've been in that didn't have downs was Suddenly Ninjas. Most people get burned by ****** corps and get tired of trying, so they stay solo. I confess Ive somewhat fallen into that too. I've got a good number of contacts in various null blocs and some lowsec pirate and high sec merc groups. I could probably up and move anywhere in eve in about a week, but I just cant be assed cause most corps in eve have a ****** culture. I'll stay flying solo and make friends in small groups and a one on one basis.

Not too long ago I was flying through Red Alliance and Goonspace in a POD in the hope someone would pop me home.
But nothing. Everything empty. Not even on a 20km crawl through a lot of bubbles. It was just nobody there.
