Please tell me: What have the Goons done that is so great for Eve? Have they ever done anything positive for the community as a whole? Have they ever done anything that did not serve their own interests? Something that wasn't selfish? Do they have an altruistic side that actually strives to give back to the community?

I'd wholeheartedly like to know if this is the case, because it's the only way my opinion of Goons would ever be changed. You're "appreciating" an alliance that willingly followed their master's orders by trying to get a guy to kill himself in real life. Yeah, old news, whatever. It still speaks volumes about them.

I'd be quicker to "appreciate" PL over Goons any day -- at least Shadoo actually helps out EVE-UNI's "students." Oh, yeah... Why don't we appreciate groups like that? They're pretty awesome. CVA. Pretty cool also. And they don't all have to be "good" to be worth "appreciating." There are nullsec alliances that absolutely fascinate me; Goons are not one of them.

I'll probably regret posting this, but I just wish people would look at the bigger picture and realize Goons pretty much represent the worst that Eve has to offer. Hopefully now they'll at least stop coming into our embassy asking if we want to rent space from them!

Elaborate a bit on that? I mean, I heard it cost someone in goons the CSM position or something of the sort. That aside...

It doesn't change the underlying message of my post...or even the sentiment directly related to what I said about that incident. You say he f'ed up...it still speaks volumes about him. It speaks volumes about you. And it is but one of many examples. Regardless, that isn't exactly what I was getting at in my post. I asked a series of genuine questions, to which I received no answer. You're obviously not obligated to do so, but if you want to improve your reputation, it wouldn't hurt to answer them...assuming there is even a positive answer you can give.

There's no denying Goons are powerful. Hell, let's think of them like USA for a moment. We do a lot of bad things in our country, but we also do a lot of good things. Because of this, we're not just seen as villains to the world; we're seen as many things. Goons don't have that luxury. They're just seen as villains. This would be okay if that's how you want to be seen, but I've watched over the months how quick you are to defend anything anti-Goon, so you obviously care.

Ha! Actually I believe I'm what you fine folks call a "highsec pubbie". Just reading through the forums and I noticed an extraordinary amount of helpful and knowledgeable goon posts. I wouldn't trust you with so much as 50 isk in game, but as contributing members of the community you guys are pretty great.

My day is, uh, alright all things considered. But I'm not Prencleeve . Although his tale of woe is another way in which goons have amused me over the years. He's not all bad though, he did contribute 2b to the New Order of Hi-Sec prior to melting down.

Can a high-sec pubbie not tip his hat to the swarm for giving us so much good content? Christ, even goons are incredulous of someone saying something nice about them.

You have this back to front, it is the tough-guy null-sec folk like Andski who are constantly whinging about hi-sec and how unfair CCP is to them.

Most hi-sec folk have nothing to do with, nor do they care about the goons, or indeed null-sec in general.
