I have a iMac 2013 and have played EVE on it before. I left for about 2 months for a break and decided to return only to find out that my iMac refuses to open EVE. I have re-downloaded EVE 5 times, went into the package and attempted a manual start, trashed EVE's Application Support folder, reinstalled mountain lion, but to no avail can I get EVE to start. There is no error message, there is no crash, there is no bouncing icon. It simply refuses to open. I Intend to look at the reports that are generated and post them very soon but I wanted to know if it was not just me or if anyone had any other ideas I have not thought of. Thanks, Ken Ugh

No luck on any error reports. The launcher still complies with the reports that nothing is wrong.

I've been happily running eve on mountain lion on a new retina macbook pro.
I didn't install the 21/5 upgrade that cause so many problems, but tonight, I started the launcher, something was patched, and now I don't get eve client starting from the launcher anymore.

So no, you aren't the only one.

Hopefully it will only be a short time until someone sorts this out.

I had the same thing happen. Totally trashing the game, preferences, and all support files would not get it to launch for me. In my situation it appeared to be a permissions issue although repairing permissions using Disk Utility did not work. What I had to do was reset my ACLs for my home folder and that fixed it. It would be like hitting a nail with a sledgehammer, but it worked for me. The account had been migrated between several OS X versions which is why they were probably all screwed up. If you can, open up Console and try to launch the game and see what error you get. Post it to here.

OMG! I NEVER THOUGHT OF TERMINALLY REPAIRING THE PERMISSIONS! IT WORKED! Big smile Too bad disk utility and applications now have to be bypassed to get games like EVE to work! Evil Thanks!

Can you do a step to step guide on how you fixed it?

I'm receiving this issue and it my EVE Client had to die at the worst moment last night.

Thanks very much, trying this now. BTW I am running 10.6.8 on my laptop, and 10.7.5 on my iMac. Both have had the same Launcher issues.

Normal Repair Permissions did not help.
For those unaware of ACL repairing, there are many articles for how to do it via the terminal, repair partition, and a few simple utilities as well. https://www.google.com/search?q=osx+reset+acl

And remember when tweaking your user folders: "We must be cautious." ~Some old geezer in a galaxy far far away. Lol

Update: I used a utility called ACLfix on: (~ meaning my username home folder)
~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online
/Applications/Games/EVE Online.app
~/

Each time trying to relaunch and see if the problem was isolated. No success. It will not patch itself. Oops
Giving up for this version and redownloading the client while I'm on campus wifi. Sad

Do not actively tank my patience.
