EVE General Discussion

If you dont know there are two news sites called Eve News24 and The Mittani.com which are both good and bad reads depending on the author or blogger of the article (go check them out). I read both on occasion and both can be rather entertaining and even educational.

If you have been reading either one in the last couple of weeks there is some drama between the two inregards to some sort of data dump that some players supposedly took advantage of (who cares) thus resulting in alittle name calling and he said she said bs. TBH the drama have been the best thing to read on these sites lately and the only reason to keep coming back. I will give my opinion of both at the end of this thread.


Now to the meat and potatoes. The two people who run these sites are Riv and Mit (I dont know either of thesse pilots personally or in-game so I have no opinion of either) and from what I have read they dont like each other. Normally i would say hug and make up but this is eve and we need explosions. Solution: Both pilots need to settle this mono e mono one on one battle to the death (yes i know you cant die in eve) and let everyone watch so we can heckle or cheer them on. Well whats so special about two pilots (I hate this word) dueling in eve? Nothing I say BUT what I propose is that the loser must post a flattering article on the winner and state they are the loser. Im sure there will be other sugestions and i would love to hear them so flame/troll away.


My opinon on both. EN24 is a good read but limited to just eve (I know they just came out that they will be covering other games) but has potential to be a great site. The articles in EN24 are usually well written with just alittle bias. TMC is a good read since they cover more than just eve (WOT my 2nd favorite game) but the articles can sometimes read like an elementary school paper. TMC is the fox news of eve they go out of their way to say they are fair and ballanced but who are you fooling call a spade a spade. Just my 2cts

Read both sites and the truth will be somewhere in the middle

its like any news... both sites are heavy in spin... so i read both... if both say the same thing in an article it must be true anything else is pure opinion...

though knowing goons the second it would look like mittenz is loosing the duel they would suicide gank like 30 nadoes to overkill riv...

The only reason people hate on The Mittani.com is because grr goons.

People hate EN24 because its a sperg filled cesspool of bad posting.

Players didn't 'supposedly' take advantage of a hacked/reverse engineered (definitely against EULA ) CHAOS server: they admittedly did (& CCP later said its ok to beak the rules in this way laughably)

CCP has a way of saying breaking the EULA is ok until it isn't anymore on a whim biting peeps in th arse later ( watch out cache scrapers!!! )

themittani.com is terrible on the eyes.

Having said that I really enjoy it content wise. Yes there are a few miffy articles, but the vast majority of it is informative and lulzy.

EN24 is just gash for the most part, and I would choose the former over the latter.

I only visit it with direct link to article and never browse outside of it... don't want to get some virus or something

Are you trolling or actually serious? The only stuff on EN24 that can remotely be considered "well-written" is not their own writers' content originally written for EN24, but cross-posts from blogs like Jester's Trek. I can't read any of EN24's original content without absolutely cringing at the butchering of both the English language and quite possibly the concept of the written word, while TMC's content is actually quite well-written when it comes to non-professional writing.

And if you consider EN24 "just a little biased", you probably don't bother reading their nullsec articles because it's heavily biased against Goonswarm and the CFC. For the longest time, Riverini refused to even write "HBC" on his site and called them "DekCo" (his dumb name for the CFC) instead because he refused to consider the HBC a separate coalition "until they declare war on teh big bad goonies and invade Deklein" . It's as if believed that he'd make that happen through the "power of the pen."

The fact that he has an axe to grind is clearly visible in literally everything he has written since an alliance he was previously affiliated with, Majesta Empire, was bulldozed off the map, while blaming their loss on Goonswarm not coming to bail them out. So, no, EN24 isn't "just a little biased," it's anti-Goonswarm propaganda mixed with some syndicated blog posts.
