stopid GOONIE CSM is just wast of money

ccp spend all thier staff buget on flying goonies to iceland to drink martini, now they fire 400 ppl BECAUSE OF CSM!!!!

ccp not buffing gallante, ccp not balaning supercaps, ccp is OBLIGATED 2 LISTEN 2 CSM yet tehy do nothng and wait around 4 next vacation to iceland paradice

You see, stuff that happens in a game is in a game. Maybe one day you will also realise that.

Until then you will continue to game the game to win a game that can't be won. I know that the CSM is important to you in that respect, and of course you will defend it as much as you can. I get that and it isn't really the root of my concern about the CSM.

Long before you were involved in the CSM I stated that I thought it nothing more than a PR stunt; a lame reflection of what it was originally proposed to be. I have seen nothing since to change that opinion.

You can pretend that the CSM is important, that you are important, but it isn't true.
You have *my* sympathy Mittens, I really mean it.

There's a difference between PR and implementing mechanics that are present in other games. There are some very tried and true methods for dealing with some of the garbage that has gone on recently, and the CSM is far from an ideal solution, it's actually done nothing more than further the problems for the most part.

EA, Blizzard and Sony are lacking in polish on most of their titles now a days, most of them go out horribly broken and have to be patched for a good year before most of them are really playable. That used to not be the case.

I'm sorry the MT thing is industry standard, and it's not a bad thing if done right, and will provide a nice boost in income for CCP, IF they had launched it right.

It's not bad to get in "experts" just take everything with a grain of salt and figure out for yourself how this fits in with your product/branding...don't just say OK DO IT w00t!

CCP's whole problem is they've been rushed the last 2 years or so with everything. Incarna has taken FAR too long, and at this point cost too much money, and it's partially because they are re-inventing the wheel. They didn't need to go off on this whole engine design thing for it like they have been. They could have done a better job using what's out there without creating a mountain of work for themselves. They should have re-evaluated what the hell they were doing 3 years ago when they came up with DUST (assuming they came up with it around then) and WoD and EVE. They got too excited and didn't realize how thin they were stretching themselves. Most people could have told them that, most people did tell them that, and loudly for the last couple years. The CSM hasn't done anything to "wake them up", the brick wall of having no more money that hit them in the face this year is what woke them up.

Yes, these Icelanders are kind of weird, and have some pretty, um weird ideas about how to go about stuff, but they did make EVE, and well it's pretty damn kewl. Let's just hope they can further get their heads out of their proverbial asses and figure out where to go from here that is the most beneficial for the company and the players...to start off with, get rid of this CSM garbage. It's costing them more than they realize right now in terms of PR and money.
