Updated Launcher Usability Issues

In the first 30 minutes of trying to do some cross-character activities, here's what I've found so far. I'm going to refrain from commenting on whether the new launcher promises to be an improvement and focus on regressions in behavior since the last version of the launcher.

  • User settings were not imported during the launch process.
  • User settings are no longer per-user. They appear to be shared between users. I'm basing this off of the windowed mode setting and which chat channels launch on opening -- I logged into a fresh character and had chat windows I didn't have access to pop open.
  • The launcher after logging in a single character makes you first have to click "Switch User Account". This makes the log-in experience less than ideal for people who have more than one account. My suggestion would be to add another preference instead of just the one that lets the launcher close after it launches Eve that would allow it to automatically present the login box again. I would use that setting. For now, I made the launcher close itself after launching Eve.
  • We lost the ability to quickly get back to a login screen. Pressing escape in game offers log off safely in space, but you no longer have the ability to log out and have the log in screen be brought back up. This is exacerbated by the previous issue and my current workaround. In my opinion, the log-off behavior shouldn't have been dropped but instead should have been updated to work with the launcher client.
  • If you have usernames that are numbered, for example notreallyausername and notreallyausername2, once you've logged into both you end up with autocomplete. Autocomplete is nice, but when I type in "notreallyausername" and immediately hit tab, it should not automatically complete to notreallyausername2. The old client worked much better in this regard -- there should be a slight delay before offering the autocomplete option so that us fast typers don't have to hit escape then tab.

These are the main issues that have already bothered me. I'll update with more findings.
