ISK Making Suggestions Thread

If you break down any EVE activity and use PLEX prices as a exchange rate you will see you are earning about 70c per hour - if you are lucky. Better to earn $15 in RL and buy a plex.

OR, best advice I've seen on the subject:

Brilliant posts, and very wise.

EVE, unlike many games, lets you make a living doing what you want to do. Take advantage of that. There's no grind worth the ISK except maybe AFK fleet ice mining in high sec because you can do house chores while you wait - but that's going away in a few days.

At teh end of teh day, just remember it's not work as long as you are doing an ingame activity you enjoy no matter if 80% of the playerbase hates your particular enjoyable activity ;D

Oops, just realized this has become a bit "wall-of-text", so for the TL;DR crowd, sorry Big smile and feel free to skip.

This is just what I have been screwing around with, centered around doing something totally different as well, as unfortunately, all games in general are getting a tad same-ish for me these days.

(A) I use when in chats a lot, usually save up storyline combat missions for when I can be bothered later.
(B) Is for days I just want to blow some NPC stuff up.

All my PvP right now is limited to a semi T2 fitted Incursus on an Alpha ALT clone with carefully assigned SP's and no implants, so this system makes plenty of money to keep buying more stuff to blow up and keeps losses to a minimal, while getting me some practice, also without messing up standings and sec status on my "proper" toons. It can also act as its own "scout" by flying in pods and getting back to a close by Med Station FAST when killed in a gatecamp Roll It's quite funny telling people that try smack talking me, that the volley that just took me out cost more to them than my pod loss did.

I think real ISK is in WH's Sleepers, but I'd really like to skill up further and have a larger ISK pool as a fallback first.

---

(A) Find a system that has multiple L4 Distro agents in close proximity, and fit out an industrial so it can fit around 30Km3 (which can cover up to 4 L4 loads of 7000m3 - as the odds of getting full 8000m3 FOUR TIMES are astronomical, 8000m3 being the max an L4 gives out) - and fly them around, as normally you'll be sent a max of 6 or so jumps, with at least 1 jump being off constellation.

You can grind 16 missions FAST, and either get a mission for an implant to sell, or an L4 combat mission that is usually unique compared to normal L4's and get very good rewards. Recently got 330 million ISK from Caldari Tags (quick sell) from 2x successive storyline missions killing tons of Caldari ships (with a separate combat toon, so don't care about standing losses)

For example in Caldari Space, look at Itamo/Mitsolen/Jatate, there's 6 L4 Distro Agents within 1 jump of each other, all in a dead end - meaning one direction to go, so limiting branching, perfect for a freighter, if available. Download and use the GARPA tool and use the "filter" to find concentrated agents in other parts of space.

Since doing a delivery is mostly flying with little clicking, it can be done with little interaction. Anyone scanning your cargo will leave you alone, and this also grinds up standing fast, as the L4 combat missions have gotten me 40% standing boost - have 6 in a row that did this - run the combat missions with a mission ALT, then collect with the distro runner toon). LP is slow, at around 600-1000 LP max per mission, but you're doing 4 of these every 15-20 minutes or so as many times you get multiple deliveries to the same remote station.

(B) Use the GARPA tool once again to find agents for L4 Security missions in close proximity. Fly agent to agent and accept ONLY high bounty kill missions (ie Angel Extravaganza), cancel and timeout the others. Run them, but don't complete. Re-run after DT, and do this for multiple days, complete only when close to dead line.

You could theoretically end up having AA "primed" in 4+ systems at once, and would be trivial to run in specially fitted ship.

I find that having a toon with a small selection of combat ships (and a Noctis) to fit exactly what the mission needs, speeds up the process - over say a single one like using a Machariel for everything - when you don't have really high SP, as sometimes a mission can be done in a shuttle or other fast ship in seconds (ie Recon 1/3). I massively overtank if watching a show, and go for gank when I'm paying full attention, but not very often as my connection is a tad flaky.

I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I was thinking of fitting an Orca (easy to fly after Odyssey patch) as a Mission Barge to move around station to station, with all my mission toolkit in it, that being ships (sub BS of course, module swap-outs (all my mission ships normally just carry a 120m3 with extra modules), and a dedicated Salvage Destroyer for cleanup. This system, to me, is the only way to keep mission running from being a bored-to-tears activity.

I have used a Rattlesnake - as I have decent drone/sentry skills - that's hard to kill when omnitank (800+) and pretty much impossible to kill when NPC faction tanked (1200+, which can go up to 1500+ with 3xT2 Purgers, and face it, people won't normally kill you for rigs that won't drop anyway) that can still put out 600-800 dps which seems fine to run missions. When the Cruise Missile changes comes in, it will be even better.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

Yes. This.

I've been playing EVE just to see all the little mechanics, and if that ever wears out, I'll just inject PLEX's and get that exploded in random PvP, and never missions or run PvE content again, unless of course a new patch adds something really cool to fiddle with, like .... FPS combat-exploration of space wrecks. DO YOU HEAR ME SEASEAPEA ???

And SERIOUSLY - why CCP has not ALREADY gotten in bed with the makers of Shattered Horizon is beyond me *facepalm*

I approve of this.
