In my opinion every BC/battleship pilot should prioritize unlocking Tech2 hobgoblins and get drone interfacing to at least 3. It's a significant increase in power for less than 2 weeks of training, and it really helps you out a lot when dealing with frigates. That extra high slot is not going to help you out much in comparison.

This, and add Combat Drone Operation as well.

As for the utility high, a Tractor Beam since BS are slow or a remote armor rep to patch up the drones.

do we really have to tell him this? It was drilled into my skull by my first ceo in my first week, and 3 years later I still dont fly any of my pve ships with less than 1 flight of light drones.

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

what i mean is, is that a person flying a navy scorp should know this.

A lot of newer players want to rush into battleships as soon as possible. Some even buy PLEX for money in the first month to be able to afford it. You shouldn't take for granted that people know what they're doing based on what ship type they're flying ;)

thanks all for the replies, one last thing

i still have a mid slot i dont need for tank, would an omni tracking unit (drone tracking unit) increase hobgob dps enough to justify it over a 4th hardener?

I'd actually fit a TP if you don't have one already and a second one can't hurt neither for ganking the smaller stuff like elite cruisers with less than 170 sign radius, however if you already feel comfortable with that size targets and have trouble with frigates yes, then fit a drone module to help them gank those pesky frigs while you take care of the bigger stuff.

A remote armor rep also has the advantage that there's a chance the rats will reclassify you as a logi boat, and give you a higher targeting priority than your drones.

But that's only if you've got a free utility high. Spare mids are best spent on improving either your tank or your primary weapons. A target painter is probably a good choice.
