So it seems you want to focus on exploration. First of all there are a couple of tips straight off the bat. I'm kind of surprised you aren't having any trouble traversing low sec in a BS without a scout, and particularly as you don't seem to know about MWD cloak. How are you managing to avoid gate camps exactly? If you haven't died yet doing this then I would suggest you have been lucky so far.

A dominix isn't the greatest ship to be doing exploration in, particularly as drones have taken a hit recently with the new NPC AI, but it is possible. First of all you should be finding a low population area. I would advise against WH's even though they are generally low population areas, because you have no early warning system as you do in lowsec with local chat. Also the sleepers are much tougher restricting you to C2s which BS's are unable to enter.

So find a low population area, do some research yourself, create a tonne of tactical points and really get the feel for the whole area before you take in anything expensive. FW are probably the highest pop areas in low sec which is one reason as to why your dying a lot.

Once you have done that then you can start doing the sites. Set your dscan to max range 360 scan, when you see someone enter local then keep scanning until they've left or entered your scan range. If you see probes enter your dscan then set your range to roughly 2au and keep refreshing while you continue the site. If the probes enter within 2au then it is time to either vacate or prepare to fight. Core probes will probably mean they are exploring also, in which case still be careful as they may be in a T3 which will kill you and steal your site. Combat probes will mean they are actively trying to hunt and kill you.

Again I dont know how you have survived going through gates in a Dominix. You should be using MWD and cloak and the very least to avoid the risk of travel.
