Raven, Can i passive tank it? if not why not?

Guristas deal primarily kinetic damage with a smattering of thermal. That's all. So that's all you protect against when you fight them.

When you do that with the passive fit, you get a 297 DPS peak tank. When you do that with the fit I posted, you get a 517 DPS tank.

On top of that, you can dictate range with my fit. Yours will sit still and get pounded into dust when all the ships in the room get into range.

You also won't be able to do much of anything at all to ships smaller than battleships simply because unaugmented cruise missiles are terrible at applying damage to small ships. I have three rigs to cover that plus a target painter which helps as well.

I get the dmg ressistant thing, i use a website to get mob dmg and fit the ressistance based on what mission i do, always have, other than that, what makes the raven bad for passive tanking compaired to a drake?

Then please, for your sake, continue doing level 3 missions with your drake until you get better skills.

For example my drake tanks over 300 DPS of any damage type I fit the hardeners for while doing 400+ DPS depending on what missiles I'm using.

It can tank level 4s quite comfortably but the damage is a bit lacking and i find it too slow.

With 300 DPS on cruise missiles you're likely to not be able to kill some rats at all like 1mil+ bounty battleships and elite cruisers.

I have a fair amount of skills to lv 4and 5 and have 12 mill SP, i dont see what i could lv to make myself do EPIC more massive dmg and tanking?

With the fit you gave me i have...

197 defence
390 dps
cap lasts: 7 min 45 seconds

Having industry 5 doesn't do much for your missioning unfortunately ;)

But to be serious: a raven should be doing at least 400 paper DPS even with "acceptable" battleship skills and supports. To be honest I'm not quite sure how you have managed to get such low dps.

Most missile ships apart from the drake need 4 ballistic control units to make the most of them, this is why passive shield tanking doesn't work since you need to sacrifice low slots for those shield relays.

As for defences, you will need to raise up skills related to active shield tanking as that's how Raven's are best tanked. It's not just a bigger drake, it's a completely different ship.

7 minutes of cap is plenty of time to clear a room, especially as you won't be leaving the shield booster on 24/7

How is an Abaddon compared to the drake? i prefer the look of it and always wanted that ship, is it better to run mission than a raven>

So what is the best all around noob friendly raven mission lv 4 running fit? no fancy tactics like 100k warping about etc, something powerful and simple and cheap?

I just did a lv 4 mission with a half fitted raven, so it snot impossible is it. i cant afford tech 2 everything on my ship and i doubt you need that, its like my old wow raiding days where people demanded max tier full raid gear players to go to the intro raids lol...

Some level 4 missions are doable in a destroyer, the ones with the big bounties and payouts you will need a properly fit battleship to run efficiently (under half an hour is about right, many people can do it in under 20).

When you go into a something like worlds collide with the raven you posted and your skills, you're either going to go boom or it's going to take over an hour.
