Still just as hilarious as the first time i watched it.

tho that guy hates everything, the only even slightly positive reviews i have seen is minecraft and portal lol.

And Thief... if you didn't pick that up from any game that has any sort of stealth in it that he reviews haha.

This guy is lame man. If I'm ever interested in hearing a review before I check out the game myself, I'll go to Angry Joe first. And he's also way more entertaining.

So does anyone else like their second job so much that they pay for it?

Once again, Yahtzee doesn't do reviews. Everything there is actually meant to be taken as entertainment, despite the "I look like a review" style he has.

Agreed. They are five mintue sketches to entertain and poke fun. I'd never go to Zero Punctuation for a recommendation or accurate review, I would however go for a chuckle at jokes about gaming culture made by a British Expatriate.

Mmm... Branston Pickle.

I'm Naomi Hale and this is my favourite thread on the forums.

His review of Spec Ops: The Line was pretty amazing. Sounded like the game blew his mind as much as it did mine. Also, he loves Thief and early Silent Hills. And he liked Far Cry, Mark of the Ninja, and XCom.

I thought his review was for the most part spot on. It doesn't mean I enjoy the game any less or agree 100% with his opinion.

Haha, watched this again myself recently. There is a lot of truth in it but it's very much from the trial account carebear perspective of the game. I've had friends who were big WoW heads trial Eve and leave jaded on it. It's just too sandbox for them. The PvE is just too dull and there's no leveling to urge you to play more.

Only thing I'm surprised he didn't rag on was the named tech variants but I guess he quit before he got into that nonsense. If I could change one thing about the game I'd get rid of them and just have basic name (meta level) stuff.

I regard the ZP review as a parody of how someone who should never play EVE would experience the game.

So amusing.

Good signature, +1 for truth.

I never watch zero punctuation because he seems to deliberately destroy any sense he might be making by only ever uttering those single sentence reviews so you're actually left with having to review his sentence to find out what he actually was saying which is tiresome I can't see what the appeal is of someone writing a script and then going over it to delete every punctuation or exclamation there might be and when reading the script aloud simply speeding it up It really baffles me why people care enough for his reviews to endure that but I guess his neverending sentence reflects on his neverending critique and it might actually be entertaining As said I don't watch it so I can't really say I did learn how to make such scripts myself You will probably already have guessed Smartypants.
Wheeze
So anyway...

Zero Punctuation <> Run-on sentences

It's entertaining, and he makes some good points in his reviews. But as with anything in life, judge for yourself. Don't let others do your thinking for you.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

I think of ZP as just humor, I don't take any of his reviews to heart, most of the games he absolutely loathes are ones that I've thoroughly enjoyed; that being said- his EVE review is faintly reminiscent of failed attempts to get other gamers to try and play EVE, his responses were typically their responses.

Yahtzee has probably saved me hundreds of dollars over the years that I might have regretfully blown on really craptastic games.

So I guess I should tell him "thanks" some day.

It is 100% accurate if taken as a whole.

His main gripe is skills and everything that hinges upon them .. trial account = no skills = no fun.
He deliberately stays off the drama scene .. NPC corp = no wingmen/drama = no fun.
He has a dragon fetish .. Eve is SciFi, not Fantasy = no dragons = no fun.

"Eve players are to nerds what nerds are to 'normal' people" .. and "...infect me with some sort of disease that causes flowcharts" .. sure gets the message across Smile
