Add range on watch list

Would it be possible to add the range to pilots that you've added to your watch list? Obviously this would only be when you are on grid with them, much like how you can see their shield / armor / hull status at the moment.

This would be incredibly useful in many situations such as not straying too far from logis, etc.

Since you are already in fleet with people in your watch list and the range infomation is already available via the overview I can't think of any reason why this shouldn't be implemented - any ideas?

i would rather see the watchlist intelligently integrated into the overview, with like "sticky entries" and health bars.

I believe you are referring to the Contacts watch list, which pops up a notification when someone is online. The OP is referring to the Fleet watch list, which pops up a window showing the shield/armor/structure status of select fleet members on grid. Having distance from fleet member in the fleet watch list would be very helpful for scimis/recons. Sure, it shows distance in your fleet overview, but that can sometimes be hundreds of players. Very time consuming to scan through that many players to make sure you are x distance from your support.

I like this idea best, but it would probably be quite a lot of work so range on watchlist would be a useful stopgap.

+1 for this, it would definitely be helpful for Logis and RR fleets.

My position is that Locked Targets, Overview, Dirscan, Local (specifically it's intel usage), and Probing results should be a unified interface.

I realize that task alone is enough effort to be the flagship of an entire expansion, and I believe it deserves it.

However range on watchlist might actually make it into the Winter Expansion.

Oh yes, yes, I thought about something like this myself a couple of times. i don't know about local, but definitely put the fleet broadcast window on your list. (:

It would be nice to get a response on this from CCP to see if they are aware of the idea Blink

However, in the mean time it seems as if there are a couple of other watch list improvements that have been proposed.

Discussed in CSM (Link):

  • More than 10 pilots (has this already been implemented?)
  • Add ship type

Another thread (Link):

  • Add capacitor status

Bumpity.

What with all the great changes / fixes going on atm, would it be possible for this to be included in the near future?

We are currently looking at whether we can add some simple usability features to the watch list soonish and yes, range is on the list (no promises though as usual).

An indicator that a ship is in warp would be nice to have

Basically, stuff that we can do within the limited scope that we have is "show things that are available to your client" which is things that you can see on grid. So showing ships that are in warp or in a station or being shot at somewhere else is not possible, but showing distance to ships in your bubble, type of ship in your bubble, etc. is possible.
