Greetings EVE Pilots! \

My name is Asatru Normsbjorn, and I've recently been recruit scammed by the corporation name of ElitistOps which is part of Pandemic Legion in the amount of 5bil. Marshmellow Madness, recruiter from ElitistOps asked for 5bil isk as form of deposit for security clearance which will be returned to new recruit after 90 days if new recruit didn't participate in any suspicious activity during the period. I trusted big name alliance "Pandemic Legion" and deposited 5bil into ElitisOps corporate wallet. After submitting deposit and application to join ElitistOps, their CEO asked another 3bil deposit due to one of their member does not trust me even with 5bil deposit. I complained and this is not the initial agreement and either accept me or return 5bil isk back to me. Dishonorably, they refuse to return 5bil isk and started to reveal their true purpose of this recruit scam.

I am writing so that no more of this kind of victims should arise due to trusting the big name alliance Pandemic Legion. I will do my best to seek justice in resolving this issue and I hope Leaders of Pandemic Legion should pay attention in resolving this issue. I truly don't think Pandemic Legion is allowing this kind of scamming corporation to stand beside their fellow pilots.

Seriously for 5bil isk? Are you that broke?

Below is Conversation between me and recruiter

OP, you need to realise that you're not giving PL a bad name making this thread live past its sell-by date, all you're doing is advertising how stupid you've been. Anyone applying to corps/alliances know they don't have to pay a fee, so if asked, they simply leave the convo. This thread will effect PL in no way at all...Other than giving them a few laughs and feel self-important for a bit.

Damn nature, you scary!

I am locking this as it is a duplicate topic from a Crime and Punishment thread, which is where this sort of discussion belongs.

My friend don't take this as an insult, but not only does your trust of 5bil in this instance strike me as incredibly naive, but also tells of a lack in understanding day-to-day logical societal negotiations, which eve serves as an incredible simulator of:

They requested 5bil for 90 days as a collateral of sorts to insure themselves from any negative impact your successful application might ensue. You would have avoided this sum were you to question yourself, and thus them, on the appropriate way in which one would be able to inflict 5 billion ISK worth of damages on them (which the collateral serves to protect them from) within 90 days, given your stature as a new recruit. By not questioning the collateral you ensured that only one party - them - was insured from any negative consequences (of up to 5bil ISK) of this particular deal.

Put simply, you did not collateralize your collateral which you gave onto them, an action which would have insured both parties against damages in the value of said collateral.

There is no trick to common societal sense such as this; everyone naturally seeks their own profit in all their actions, so all you need to do to guarantee you see a similar way to profit is simply question everything that is asked of you, an action which will result at its conclusion either a satisfactory deal to both logically-adept parties or, in this instance, the branding of one as a social moron in that instance by the other, and any third parties that spectate (very much the rest of this thread).

The good news is you came away from this situation with a lesson learned far more valuable than 5bil ISK.

Right?
