I interviewed Trebor, Ripard, Kesper, Ali and Mynnna and posted a story over at TheMittani.com. We talk about how the election worked, why Mynnna isn't an officer, and got some general impressions of their first weeks on CSM8.

Good article and it does point out indirectly that CSM is the same as any other rl organisation. Officers are there to perform a function, it's a job (often thankless) not a status symbol.

There is nothing in the White Paper saying they have to do anything at all with respect to the title they are awarded. If the person with the title makes something of it, then great (i.e. The Mittani during CSM6), but nothing says they have to do anything at all (i.e. Seleene during CSM7.)

That remains to be seen in CSM8.

However, if the officers do not do their appointed jobs then the office is a meaningless title. Either way an office is not about status.

Failing to carry out the duties of an office would indicate that the holder is a failure or that the office was poorly defined (i,e, the holder was not made aware of what they are supposed to do)

Why are you suddenly hating on Two step? Granted I would have liked to have seen the secretary do more community outreach and PR, but to say he did NOTHING secretarial last year is garbage.

You were in Two step's corner just a bit ago.

I don't hate Two Step. But he's a damn fine example of someone that held a title and then did **** all to earn that title.

What the hell is wrong with you? I can praise Two Step in some areas (his activism concerning POSes), while criticising him in other areas (secretary.)

I perfectly understand being able to give credit where credit is due and still be able to criticize when warranted.

I don't get calling him gutless and balless for not excoriating his fellow CSM members during the term and then you saying he did NOTHING to justify his title.

I know you've got a reputation as drama llama to preserve but that's pretty indefensible, and beyond the pale as just commentary. That's you stooping to unwarranted and unjustified personal attacks. I like your blog and commentary when you are on a relatively even keel, but really don't understand where you are coming from here. It undermines your credibility to high hell.
