I was looking into C5 WH corps and I had a small question.

My main can fly a Proteus + he also has good shield tanking and probing skills but that's all. He is a purely subcapital non-missile focused combat character.

My understanding of wormholes is that C5 escalations mostly utilise dreads/carriers with a Noctis, and that Tengus are best for C3s. Other forms of income through PI and Gas mining; neither of which I have skills for.

So outside of training for a few months would it be possible to join a C5 corp?

PI and Gas can be trained for within a week or so.

For sites as a sub capital pilot: Ashimmu, Vigilant, Loki, Vindicator... are very useful with dreads on the field.

He has armour tanking skills, I was meaning shield tanking in addition to everything needed for a Proteus.

And basically everything with a web bonus is useful with Dreads. Noted.

Given the size of the corp you join, there may be a role open for a dedicated scanner. Just pop probes and CONSTANTLY check for incoming K162s while the sites are ran. But, you don't want to be that guy for too long.

Train into a Loki. You only need the Electronics subsystem to 5. Everything else can be left at 4.

Really tbh.. you dont even need it to five.. in most corps 4 is okay and you should have faction webs anyway.. oh and there are many ways to make isk in c5s and there statics.. you just need a corp to show you the way to isk.. meet mags and radars.. 400 mil ah hr easily.. ill take it and gas harvesters take like a week to train
