Locking bug in capital escalations?

we started a capital expo last week, and have been experiencing some difficulty locking our loki's and noctii with carriers

basically you start the lock, and when the timer finishes and it gives the >>locked<< part it will stay that way for up to 10 seconds before actually locking.
meaning that a lock can take upwards of half a minute, which kinda hurts if you have 3 escalation waves pounding on your loki
so we've had to stagger that a bit.

this is happening across multiple pilots, ships, computers, countries etc, and I've yet to try it in other scenario's

but seeing as the forums don't really have any mention of it (you'd figure otherwise if this was a global thing) i figured its confined to wormhole sites or something, maybe even just my wormhole :S


sound familiar to anyone?

I think this is just a sync problem between server/client

yeah thats a possible technical side of it, but the dreads dont have trouble locking, or any other ship for that matter.
and they're flown by the same people

so we sorta ruled out the cache or other local settings (after trying it)

I'm guessing this is probably a new issue but... I've very infrequently seen an issue that seems to be related to the leadership skill where it seems certain fleet compositions aren't having their skills relating to targetting stuff applied properly but visually are locking as if skills + leadership locking boost is being applied. If your carrier pilot is in a leadership position try moving to another fleet position or vice versa.

I have had this before but not a 10 second to half a minute delay, that's a huge delay. I would definitely petition this asap.

this actually doesnt sound to far fetched, but i just tested outside the shield on the POS

the delay was smaller but still there with no fleet up at all

I'd say the other possibility you were in a Wolf Rayet and the visual effect wasn't taking the sig bonus into account but while that wouldn't have any effect on sleepers it also wouldn't show as bugged locking a POS (unless CCP has messed up POSes and system effects again).

this sounds very much like what we're experiencing, the sleepers and everything else arent affected by the system effects so you dont notice

but the carriers lock players


and i didnt lock THE pos, but outside of it i locked a loki

It's this. The locking bar doesn't take into effect a signature radius reduction. One of our booster pilots has a sig radius reduction booster (don't ask me why he's changed it now) and I noticed it right away trying to lock our Lokis with the Carrier out of triage (about a 2-4 second "locked" blink like you're talking about). In a Wolf-Rayet, the effect would be seriously compounded resulting in the kind of lock-times your talking about.

I usually triage one cycle and keep one rep running cuz triple escalations are alot of deeps =D...and ive disconnect being first carrier. if i didnt triage. i would have lost a carrier. Nothing quite like telling 3 dread to warp to you and you hear connection lost from ts as your screen freezes.
but ya i have experienced the delay even in triage...you lock it and it blinks for 5 to 10 seconds...havent noticed it any longer than that.
