Yes, well anybody with a sense of humor knew it wasn't funny.

Actually it is about the attitude of the community on this forum.
People are happy about others losing there jobs.
Sorry but that is pathetic, and sad and you all talk about losing respect for CCP well after some of the posts I have seen today.
It is the community doesn't deserve a thread of respect.

And this is new on this community how? If you really played EVE you should know what to expect out of this place, being shocked at the callousness, trollage, flaming and other shenanigans that are rampant here since DAY 1 you should take it as "usual business".

Does that make it more or less wrong? Not the point, if we , or at least I wanted a moral busybody on a forum I would go post on another kind of forums more appropriate to such endeavors. Your shocked answer only reveals naivete and to be honest, I find it insulting.

OP was just glad that the masses spoke with the only pitchfork at their disposal, WALLETS. I am proud to have been one of the many voices during the protest and to have spread dissent across all kinds of media at my disposal. A campaing I carried to extreme extents and for which I am proud, for many reasons not worth posting here.

People lost Jobs, yes, evil and sad, but you should be appaled is at how these lost Job could have been kept if CCP itself decided to have taken a more IN TOUCH path with their game. Community Reps that got sacked are the direct result of the upper managements FAILURES. No one here is happy to have seen them go. I for one will miss them a lot, yet you pretending to keep or impose a "only you can perceive" sense of propriety here is so misguided to be honest I'm appalled by you.

But all in all, this is eve, HTFU.

A refocus needed to happen, and yes some peoples jobs would inevitably be put at risk because of this.

But as someone who has been here since well before day 1, let me tell you something...

The issues that arose with Incarna, while very real and in need of serious attention, were in no way, shape, or form more serious than a number of other issues that have arisen throughout the history of EVE development (blatant Dev cheating, favoritism, boot.ini, allegation of purposely overlooking moo goo bugs for years, and far more). Absolutely nothing happened that justified the **** storm that arose post Incarna.

The difference was that this time there was a concerted effort by our local troll community to whip the sheep into a frenzy about it. Via a number of methods not restricted to these forums, our ever swelling and more skillful community maggots were able to whip a relatively significant percentage of the EVE community into a mindless fury.

Even when these people would blatantly post (in the very same thread) that all they were doing is trolling both sides for maximum effect, idiots happily sucked it up and propogated it... cheerfully joining into things like "quoting the question in bold yellow text" and other such nonsense. You will also note that many of these people made a triumphant return the moment Manifests Dev blog was released... giddy with their success and their place in the spotlight again.

They successfully turned "issues that need to be explained or addressed ASAP" into mass protests and mass subscription loss. A reaction that, if you look back at the issues calmly, was TOTALLY out of proportion with the issues at hand.

So yeah, mistakes were made and serious issues needed to be fixed. No doubt about it.

But if you are proud of being so very openly manipulated into causing serious damage to a game that you obviously love and the team creating it, don't be surprised when the even the bitter vet crowd rolls it's eyes at you and calls you naive.

For someone that claims to be comfortable with the mature and cut throat nature of the EVE community and to HTFU, you sure have a lot to learn about it.

If you need to refocus because your staff is spread out thin over many areas, you move staff to the areas that need focus and not just fire them, staying spread as thin as before.

It makes no sense in regard to refocussing, it only makes sense when you're running out of funds.

Because the game was unplayable for weeks due to repeated crashes again.

Oh wait, it wasn't.

Because the introduction of the NeX store for vanity items was radically more detrimental to the game than the introduction of PLEX.

Oh wait, it wasn't.

The list goes on and on.

While there were serious issues with Incarna's release, no denying it, those issue pale in comparison to past issues when looked at objectively and calmly.

That's the problem, mobs don't tend to do that. Mobs are easily led by those with malicious intent who are willing to chant "we won't take it any more" long enough and loud enough (even when they laugh and tell you to your face that manipulating you is EXACTLY what they are doing).

Go look carefully at some of the major threads generated at that time. If you are very, very patient you'll find exactly what I am referring to.

It burned out peoples cards dude. Thats pretty unplayable.

It made it so people could not use multiple clients, breaking one of the fundamental play styles of eve. That made it unplayable to a lot of people who run lots of alts. You know CCPs revenue comes from people willing to dump money in the game. Some even have 5 or more accounts.

Making people who have lower end hardware unable to play the game. There are lots of people out there that just cant afford to Upgrade right now. But can spend 15 or farm for plex to keep playing. Now they cant, more lost revenue.

NEX store was a slap in the face to NOT Putting MT into the game. It was a slap in the face of the sandbox to make a system that exists outside player control/influence/manufacture. Then it was a crime of stupidity to charge 3-4 or more plex for the limited selection of goods they offered in the store. I had thought one plex would have gotten me lots of random cheap goods or several outfits sets as per MOST OTHER SANE MT STORES I had as examples.

The list does indeed go on, to snide 1000 pants on head ****** dev posts, to Leaked emails showing they think their players are idiots and a newsletter that shows they were kicking around the concept of GOLDEN AMMO. The email shows that it was not just talk when you read that Fearless in hilmars own words WAS THE PLAN.

Please take your head out of whatever dark place you have it for your own benefit.
