Autopilot + Tracking Camera

Simple in theory, but the camera swinging back to the arrival stargate during the new jump transitions gave me an idea.

Basically:

  • If you have "Tracking Camera Enabled" and activate autopilot, the camera automatically tracks to the next stargate/station on route.

  • So, as you're autopiloting, the camera will look at the stargate you're warping to without any user input, you jump with the seamless transition, the camera tracks to the next stargate/station you're autopiloting to, EVE looks all beautiful and stuff.

  • Obviously if you click on another object in your overview, your camera will track to that, but after each jump the camera will automatically align to the next destination unless you click on something else again. Activating/deactivating autopilot will also reset the automatic camera tracking.

  • As I said in another thread, if you don't have autopilot enabled and you jump into the next system, the camera should only track to the arrival stargate if you have "Tracking Camera" enabled.

A good idea, with an adjustment:

Please DONT make the track-back-to-arrival-gate option tied to 'tracking camera enabled'

Please, tie it to the overview options set for a particular overview tab.

//edited to make a bit clearer;

I perform different tasks in space. I would sometimes like to have my camera tracking back to gate after a jump, sometimes I wouldn't.

Sometimes I like to use the tracking camera to follow what I select, sometimes I don't.

If we could have 'track to gate after jump' and 'enable tracking camera' as two options that are settable per overview tab, it would let me adjust the behavior completely to be suited to the task I am currently performing - I generally have overview tabs setup for the major families of tasks i perform (Pvp / Travelling / cloaky-intel etc..)

You guys are so very, very close!

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?
