EVE used to be a game that supported many gaming styles and was supported by a passionate and creative playerbase and equally passionate and dedicated Devs, GMs and Mods.

What I see today is a lot of casualties to shareholder interests. Not something that really adds customer value.

Lets have a look at the EVE casualty list so far:
CCP Zymurgist
CCP Fallout

Both quite dedicated ressources in the EVE community. And so many others...

You - CCP - might not grasp it, but the whiny 0-Sec crews ruining their own game are not the majority of your subscribers.
And fixing some bugs that will affect like 10% of the playerbase is also not like finding the holy grail.

But I am disgressing...

I'm representing the live events playerbase. CCP Dropbear & his comrades gave us something meaningful to do. Something beyond grind, something more than just Chat Roleplay. Something beyond just shooting up people for no reason.

If this is taken away from us in your strange endeavour to please shareholders and blind the masses, it might be time for some of us to actually unsubscribe.

EVE used to be an intelligent game. Now, if you only care about people (not)-shooting the shyte out of each other in Zero... I can have better spaceship PVP in Black Prophecy even if the game SOXs otherwise.

So: Please, CCP. We saw Dropbear as an unconfirmed casualty on one of the lists. We want him as our Hilen Tukoss, because he does a great job and we want live events to be part of EVE till servers melt.

Thank you for your attention. (hopefully)

Live Events are content.

I swear to god CCP needs to have ALL their staff ESPECIALLY the CEO and Board sit down and watch all of the extra credits videos.

PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE MICRO TRANSACTIONS ONE.

No.. of course not.

But its not 10%, more like 30 or 40.. And those bugs you talk about? We have been asking for a fix for nearly four years now. Some of the "fixes"? They were stillborn, like hybrids.

This is a really ****** idea.

These people have just lost their jobs, from a company that they poured their lives into.

At least afford them some damn privacy to deal with their lives before you start putting their names up in lists on public forums.

Losing the fanwhore of the live events team would really end it for a great deal of the roleplayers in the game. Sad

Seeying over a dozen of my closests friends in EVE leave the game due to the ongoing changes and bad calls. I realise that live events are the only reason in still playing the game.

Firing Dropbear or any of the content teams members would be a gross violation to all that they have achieved in the last year and a half.

Not after the 1600 man in Yulai, or the 1000 in Deltole. Obviously they have (re)created something amazing. Something that draws players in like a magnet.

It turned this game from an assorted list of spreadsheets, and grindy features into something amazing, with a backstory booming with excitement and fun.
I hope for the sake of the people that enjoy(ed) live events, that we dont have to say goodbye to one of our dearest friends. CCP Dropbear.

Too late for that, if you look up the main thread on this disaster and follow twitter.
I think CCP is making a big mistake as you can read in my post above.

I think if we had actual numbers, the fixes implemented/planned so far will only benefit /harm like 10%. I could be wrong of course, but not by the last hard numbers I saw. Which - admittedly - are like 1.5 years old.

Now I have to go find a new MMO to pour my money into, or maybe I'll just get Battlefield 3 when it comes out after all. Uh oh, discussed a different game not in Out of pod! The devs will surely ban me now after they get hired!

Live Events are one of the things that got me back into EVE, and while it is sad to see those who have gone go, Please CCP Hold onto the assets you have left!

These guys have made EVE Into a living breathing universe for a lot of RP Players like myself, and for that I Thank them, and give them my ongoing and continued support. Please don't fire them CCP!!!

Those who have been let go, it is with a heavy heart that I say Farewell, and I wish you all the best in the future.
