He was the Captain. As Captain, he was in command of the ship, which makes him the commander (lower case 'c' as it's not a rank in this context). Riker was a Commander (upper case as this is a rank) and was his second in command.

He claims to not care. Ironically, I was saying in a chat channel that he'd say... basically that... all of two minutes before he tweeted it. The only thing he didn't say is "chairman is a worthless position, its power debased by Seleene's absence during CSM 7", which was the other thing I predicted he'd say.

Also, I suppose this officially means that I have to stop teasing him about having the McGonnagal Curse (always playing second fiddle on the CSM to much more colorful leaders).
