To be fair to them;
I think they did realise, what they didn't realise is how often Dust could interfere with the running of EVE.

Which is virtually none at all.

A few minutes here and there isn't an issue for most adults, especially when you consider that downtimes are regularly much shorter than they are scheduled for. Unless, of course, they prefer that CCP keep the servers offline the fully alloted time each day so as not to cause confusion. Blink

As well as patching like on the UK bank holiday, which people remember. When people moan about things they're usually trying to make a point as well. So they're also thinking about all the possible DTs due to Dust which will be in the future even when nothing is being done to EVE which is the one they pay for.

Well, hopefully the realization will dawn that they are simply different facets of the same game, and that most modifications and updates to DUST will also affect EvE one way or another.

Once things are up and running I think it's probably going to a relatively rare we see a patch for DUST that doesn't also effect changes on one level or another within EvE... just as this patch today also affects some EvE mechanics..

Whining is a culture i frown upon as well, but being ignorant is just worse. 'if' i was to whine about eve servers going down because a dust issue needs fixing, i will be right (yeah deal with it). EVE severs used to be down for an hour each day and thanks to the great work done by CCP to reduce that time to sometimes even less than 10 mins, i get to spend more time on EVE ( which is AWESOME).

Now if this reduction in downtime was to go back up to 1 hr because DUST issues have to be fixed regularly then i might just start to feel that i am at a disadvantage because of DUST. Yes this is the first time its happened, and i understand how worried some EVE players might be just in case it should be a repeated issue

DUST is not EVE, we share the same Universe and the two games interact to a degree not before seen in gaming but the point is, I play EVE and not DUST ( well i still suck at EVE but still, that's what i sub for).

I hope you being an adult and all don't bow to the 'a few minutes here and there stuff`' Minutemen means something else nowadays

Basicly, they added more feature wich you decide to not take advantage of and so you refuse that said feature might possibly in certain circumstance when adding new code to the game as a whole could at some point create a bigger downtime because there are more stuff to do than what was expected? Thats what you are saying right?

DUST is a new part of EVE.
You don't want to use that new feature.
You are unhappy about the new feature causing extra maintenance time right now while not knowing how often said additionnal maintenance time will happen.

It's part of the game. Get over it or contract me your stuff and quit. It just won't go away.
