what Ryuu Shi said. you dont need to "catch up" in eve but if you want to, there is character bazar.
Dont support any direct SP purchases.

+1 for you good sir.

The OP's idea is just plain silly. Malcanis' law alone destroys it (with extreme prejudice). Besides this isn't the first time this has been suggested. The search function is there for a reason.

Sable's Ammo Shop at Alentene V - Moon 4 - Duvolle Labs Factory. Hybrid charges, Projectile ammo, Missiles, Drones, Ships, Need'em? We have'em, at affordable prices. Pop in at our Ammo Shop in sunny Alentene.

No, not ever.

Destination SkillQueue:- It's like assuming the Lions will ignore you in the Savannah, if you're small, fat and look helpless.

For one I merely thought of this because of someone else brought it up. At the time I figured, okay well I put some thought into the idea and it feel's well rounded let's see what other players think. Thus the post.

I completely agree that ultimately allowing the option to BUY SP, open's a door that not even burning jita would ever close.

I'm not suggesting this for myself, or even him. We came back knowing the option wasn't there. I came back bashing my head, and accepted the concussion. However this isn't for "US". This is for player's that left, and are discourage to return because they feel as if though they are behind.

There are many good point's here, most of which I agree with. It's a daunting task to figuring out how to allow the option without breaking the current system. There's also many "change is bad go away" comment's though too :P

Let's move this from let's put it in, to how could it be pulled off then. With that mentality let's brainstorm.

the 1800 sp I stated was with the default allocation of attribute's. Now 1800 is still fairly generous, and encourage player's the option of leaving and coming back later. Let's now change it to the equalivent of no attribute's 17 across the board. This work's out to be 1530SP/HR. This now bring's us to a monthly total of 1,101,600SP.

Now to discourage exsisting player's from seeing still as an option to take a vacation, although I mean it's 1530/hr that's garbage. Let's now change the requirement's to qualify, to now include also minimum being inactive for a duration of 12month's. Along with including a restriction to only allowing character's with less than 20m SP.

I myself can fly a tengu fairly well with only 12m, I could fly it better with more of the core. However it's very clear that anyone who's at least put in a year of time, can return and fly just as effectively as anyone else. Sure... they can't fly that capital... but that's not "OUR" problem.

AGAIN, this isn't "FOR US"
This is for those who left, and are discourage to return. Allot of which hold onto the belief that the lack of SP is what hinder's them. For any one 6month's or less, this DOES clearly hinder them, 6m-1yr being only hindered by raw value's which can be compensated by other players or tactical experience.

I left for more than 6 months and when I came back I didn't have any problems whatsoever. I didn't feel like I'd been "overtaken" by those I'd been playing with before. I didn't feel hard done by.

If people feel these things they don't understand the way "progression" works in EVE. It's not linear.

The main problem with your suggestion is you're solving a problem that's only really in the minds of those who are predisposed to feeling hard done by, not with the game itself and by doing so you simply cannot get away from the creep towards pay for SP which would kill the game. It's a first step on a very slippery slope of "I WANT" mentality.

Perhaps a better way to go would be to educate those that have cancelled accounts about how this doesn't actually matter and suggest they come back and give the game another go but then CCP already do this so there doesn't really need anything to be done.

I'd only support the ability to buy SP that you lost when your pod was killed and SP that you lost because of an empty skill queue while you had a active EVE Online subscription.

Try reading this as well : Second Skill Queue on Active Char for PLEX

And my response to you is:

What is this obsession with SP's? Give up already! It's not the amount of SP's you have or how long you've been IG it's about experience and ability.

And as someone else posted up in there: "Additionally, only a small fraction of your skillpoints ever come to bear at a single time. People get too fixated on the total number of skillpoints and don't bother to think about how Large Energy Turrets 5 doesn't help at all when you're flying a Drake or how Ice Mining 5 doesn't help at all when you're doing T2 research or T3 reverse engineering in a POS."

Don't want "to be behind" then don't leave, it's quite simple. Time in game is time rewarded as they say.

Why did you necro this terrible thread to post the worst idea yet in a thread based on the worst idea ever - until yours?

You should be ashamed of yourself. Completely ashamed.
