Pandemic Legion - the careful alliance

So I missed out on 'true stories for past 10 years' post so here is one for the record books. As the title of the post suggests Pandemic Legion known as PL are what I have come to know as a 'careful alliance'. Everything they do has a care factor to it and unlike most alliances in EVE PL has a long history of not committing to a fight without weeks and months of careful consideration to the amount of risk involved. It is for this reason alone that null sec fights died a slow death that we see today. Gone are the days when PL was a feared force who could drop in on you at anytime and any place.

When you hear of super carrier graveyards in EVE you might think of places like Uemon or 49- however consider that PL are home to an extraordinary number of super carrier pilots whose days will come to an end logged off in low sec only seeing a small number of fights in their lifetime. Shadoo used to be a feared FC but nothing lasts forever and now they have the ever erratic Sort Dragon trying to get his PL mates to join him in glorious battles to no avail. Waiting for PL to fight is like waiting for a bear to come out of his cave.

Gone are the days when PL used to be a hired gun when maybe they only had a few titans and a small fleet of supers. What happened to PL is that they have got too fat on the spoils and like all pirates have sat on their treasures ie. supers and tech moons. Now they are happy to roam in large super fleets now and then to show off their glory but who to? I have been waiting a long time for PL to fade away into nothing from the day they maliciously mauled a fleet of Zenith Affinity pilots after killing a Dreadnought on a station somewhere in Queriuos.

While I had hoped they would go down in a mass of flames it seems they will go down as the sleeping giant that never woke up. That was oh so careful that they bored themselves to death and the great Shadoo in the process. PL may you die honourably and bring back some of the fear you once possessed. Rally behind your fearless Dragon and bring the life back into EVE that you are slowly sucking out of it through your carefulness and predictability.

If only CCP created an entire subforum just for these kinds of posts. They could name it, I don't know, "Corporation, Alliance & Organization Discussions" or something.

If only.

Did your main just get into PL and you want to get in on some of the old ass kicking? The old vets and FC's return your suggestions and ideas with silence?

PL was in Providence last month; they didn't bring super caps and fleets that we couldn't respond to. They won most of the engagements because they know how to fight and fly and communicate.

If you are not getting in on the good fight fleets, and people don't talk to you that much it may be because they don't trust you yet. Maybe because you are new there, or maybe because you are the type of person who would bring internal issues to a public forum.

Those people stick out like sore thumbs, or little fingers with damaged tendons. Posting with an alt is small defense in such a case.

Looking at answers i'm the only one who can read enough to read OP to the end Lol

Well, looks like all 0.0 alliances became old and lazy these days. Eve mechanics made it so old established "careful" alliances are very difficult to beat. Let's hope something will change after all. Elsewere all life will finally move to high-sec and low-sec (as some people already say). 0.0 will become ISK-farm and people will visit empire for all fun then can have in the game.

It's always been like this. If you can't beat them, make them disappear.

ITs a sad thing that null sec has becomming soo boring. Only a handfull of ppl are creating this. Too bad these ppl wiped out different alliances that thought differently, that only cared about the fun, not hoarding isk.

The ironic fun thing about this is that the members of those alliances are bored to hell because of this yet they dont see it. Funny they dont realize they create less fun for themselves and more "fun" (rtm) for their leaders and they just go with the flow,

Guess thats the state of eve politice is nowaredays: Hoarding isk while playing other games in the background.

What the hell are you even talking about? Most of the groups that got wiped out WERE isk hoarding buttlords.

With respect they won most of the important fights because they dropped slowcats and blapdreads on every moon they wanted and we (Provi) couldn't escalate the fight because of their superior capital and super capital numbers.
There was also that time we almost killed a dreadnought of theirs so they brought in more carriers to keep it alive!

PL IS the careful alliance and that's how they survive! While I don't enjoy fighting them because of their tactics and vast capital abilities I respect that they know how to use them and they're not stupid enough to fall for taunts like this thread and welp a super fleet.

TL;DR: Alliances which commit to a fight without being ready are stupid, intel and picking your fights is how you keep you supers to use next time.

Or in your case, and pretty much everyone else out in null...if you can't beat them...make them blue.
