Alright, I'll suggest a different direction. Corps are totally worth going into, even as a solo pilot, just to have some guys to bullshit with.

But what you really need, is a *goal*. Why did you sign up for eve in the first place? Did you see a video or some crazy story about something that happened in eve? That's your basis. From there, you figure out if you want to do that, and build yourself in that direction, learning and experimenting as you go. Don't get me wrong, dabbling around is perfectly acceptable. I'm 4 years old and I'm still trying new things periodically. There's nothing wrong with taking detours and dicking around with random stuff. But regardless, you need to find something in eve that inspires you. Anything that evokes your imagination and makes you say "I want to do that." All you need is to plant that seed, and your experience will rapidly grow into something amazing.

Is it possible, or rather, feasible to play a "Robbin Hood" type character?

i.e Pirate-ing / taking from the selfish richer players and using it to help out new players?

Or would it be too difficult to pirate the big boys right up front?

I don't see why not. I ninja'd a shitton back in the day. But I occassionally in secret would agree to help a mission runner salvage, for a moderate fee. If they were younger than me, I'd do it for free.

Anyways, if you can get good at PvP I guarantee there's a huge market for "carebear defenders" out there. Simply put, tons of bad PvPers will wardec new player corps for easy kills. You learn to fight, and maybe start helping those new players defend themselves...

Just a thought.

Haha, this is entirely viable! In fact, it's something I enjoy myself too. Some ideas for lowsec:

Roam around, find out who uses which customs office. Test their stupidity by camping it. Use decloaking methods to catch the fat blockade runners trying to feed their PI planets. No gate guns means you can use cheap T1 ships to scram and ransom your target, or kill their ship for the loot and modules. Here is a nice example of such a kill. This kill could have been made by a week old character. Note the cheap-ass T1 autocannons on that Rifter.

Crash pirate + weekend warrior gatecamps. By crashing I mean you try and find the camp's weakness by observation, and organize a counter fleet. Covops ships can provide warp-ins and valuable intel on the targets. Harass them from range, bait them into Suspect status, let them think you are with fewer numbers then you actually are and when the situation is right, strike.

Many corps and even solo players have starbases in lowsec. Keep an eye on the moons in your favourite system. You might just catch a poor sod setting up a reaction tower (aka ISK farm) solo. There are several moments when such as player is extremely vulnerable. If you happen to catch him on grid when launching his tower, you might just hit the jackpot.

I started because I saw Scott Manleys videos on YouTube, and being a huge sci-fi geek loved the idea of a massive sandbox mmo. Just the beauty of the ship design and the idea of being able to fly them drew me in.

Thanks for the ideas! I like the idea of going in in a Cov-ops ship to scout then taking them by total suprise with an ambush.
