Actually most Europeans drive on the right as per america its only a few that dont, such as the UK and Ireland, and a few places where britain had or have an influnece like Malta and Gibralta.

HRmmmm I've always thought that the Yanky Date system is a little weird

Most date representations have a progression of either Large Time Scale to Small, or Small to Large, not the Yanky Middle/small/Large, it just makes no sense.

Dates are normally expressed as DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY, or the ISO YYYY-MM-DD, either have a progression, even time is normally expressed as HH:MM:SS

The Yank MM/DD/YY or MM/DD/YYYY is just odd, it doesn't have a progression

I think it's fair to say anybody who knows about the 9/11 disaster will know it happened in America. It is also therefore reasonable to assume that Americans will use their own, however flawed, dating system. If other people called it 11/9 it would cause unnecessary confusion for the sake of pedancy, especially when it's a touchy issue.
