IRL, I have indeed never done any of those things you mention.

How does any of that even relate to drones in a game about internet spaceships where a window is provided on the bloody screen that even says "Drones in Space" and your unwillingness to pay any attention to it?

You've been provided with the tools and the desired warning.

What you want is similar, I think, to telling the government that you want traffic lights to be arranged in a circular pattern of six lights and consist of pink, purple, orange and teal.

Yup because irl YOU have never left your keys/wallet/glasses/coat/etc in the bathroom while out on the town, or in a movie theatre (I worked in that industry for 11 yrs, it happens DAILY), or left the house only to go to pay for dinner and realized you left your wallet at home. EVERYONE has a brain fart now and again, there's no valid reason why there can't be some basic option (make it so players can turn off the warning even) that helps you be less of a dingbat now and again.

I HAVE done this and the only reason I did was because there wasn't a warning box that slapped me in the face! I remembered the lesson and never did it again...or until the next time I did. I've left Harvester Mining Drones behind, got in my Cheetah and had to scan the buggers down, did I learn: Oh yes! Have I done it since sure, just not with my Harvesters or that often and only when in dire circumstances where I can't wait for them to get back.

I personally just don't think we need a dialogue\warning box for every action in EVE, just the really important ones.

We don't need a warning box for every action, but even IRL there are warning signs about just exactly this sort of thing. NO LITTERING, NOT A STEP, WET FLOOR, etc.

I assure you that if we had expensive autonomous drones delivered by carriers that come and go instantly and went completely inactive without the carrier present that someone would slap a warning on the button marked GO if those drones were not recalled. If nothing else the drones themselves should be programmed to alert you that you are leaving without them. They may be somewhat inexpensive, but they aren't exactly cheap---and in a universe where rogue drones go on to build hives and try to eat people making sure you don't accidently warp despite the Drones in Space count being higher than zero would be a priority.

As for the drone interface window--- the information is there, but the window looks exactly the same if drones are in space or not, other than the life bars, which are not always visible. There are steps I can take, and if I was the owner of a semi-autonomous spaceship one of those steps would be to have exactly such a warning installed---if not the automation to automatically have idle drones recall when I hit the warp button.

the good thing about this discussion, we talk so much about missing drones that we might never forget them anymore, just to mention as well the pop up box where you need to click on for sure would get anoying however a warning flashlight or the ship telling you with the voice that drones are still in space, when you click warp, would still be something convenient

maybe they also could add a rig for auto drone return, this could cause a penalty on warping out, and would solve the issue, so everybody could decide if it is important enough or not
