Correct... there should not be ANY null industry!

Because that would be the result of removing local.

That is power projection problem, not a cloaky camper problem. Even if you removed cloaks completely they could still be doing it with ships with low enough sig and high enough ECCM as long as they can fit cyno on it.

No ship should be unprobable, and no ship would be able to ECCM 1000 people trying to get it.

Sure, it could just warp fro new safe to new safe... but at least that would be work.

There are VERY few people who train the necessary skills/use the ridiculously overpriced implants to be able to probe out certain ships if set up correctly. And once you see probes on d-scan you just warp off, or bounce safes, or better yet fit a MWD and keep it on in one direction. By the time they probe you out/land on your previous location you are already pretty close to being off grid.

How would that end null industry? People would actually have to *gasp* be at their computers to mine?

Most null alliances have everyone in a 50 jump radius blued up anyway. You guys have little to no risk of ganks with local.

They appear on the overview when they're about to do something.

I see you posting in an AFK cloaker whine thread, and you responded to a question about how many AFK cloak whine threads we need. So you're saying that your post is off-topic?

Since industry is being done in locations that a cloaker can't reach or affect, no, it really wouldn't.

It's not the cloak, it's the cyno.

Have you ever been a null industrialist? The alliance rents out most of the systems, and you are not allowed to go into them. They set aside one or two for the alliance industry. You can't just go anywhere you want.

Jenn aSide wrote:

You assume only one cloaky. Last time I was in null, every system for 12 jumps in any direction had a single cloaky camper sitting in it.

Thats what i do. i fit MWD+ cloak and stuff some projective ammo in my Dominix (i call the "moving Van") and just go live in a backwater system till the cloaky gets tired. If he follows, i keep moving. Never have i lost a ship this way, i've gotten a few kills when i've taken a sabre alt and bubbled the gate and decloked the cloaky.

And you expect 100 man corp to all do this? Again, you've clearly never been an null industrialist.

What is the argument against CONCORD, high sec stations, NPC corps? Right... you get all this protection without even working for it.

Well, the same argument can be made against the current cloaky camper mechanic. You don't have to do anything for the safety of the cloak. You warp somewhere at range, align toward nothing... and you are 100% immune to EVERYTHING. There is nothing anyone can do to find you, de-cloak you, kill you.

1000 people doing everything in their power to try to find you, and you are 100% totally immune and safe.

Heck, at least in high sec you are still at risk of the suicide gank. Cloaky camping in null? NOTHING can be done to you.

Except catching you on the gate as you come in in the 1st place unless the use a wormhole and those are...unreliable lol.

That cloaky camper isn't responsible for poorly defended null space. What is stopping you from putting bubbles on your in gates + paying a corp mate to sit there in a Dramiel (rotating out with someone else every 30-45 minutes to keep them from getting bored)? if you don't let the cloaky in, he can't go afk, and if he does get in, you can just move.

Hell, you can connect upgraded system by jump bridge. just get 4 or 5 upgrade systems and if someone wan't to cloaky camp them they have to dedicate 5 accounts to the effort.

i can't say it enough, your inability to use the tools given doesn't make the game is broken. i've never lost a ship to a hotdrop and i've been playing in null sec since late 2008.

I'm not in an alliance, because every time I've moved to null, a cloaky camper shows up and shuts everything down.

Why? Because 1000 PvPers have nothing better to do but sit around waiting for a hot drop, that will only happen, IF the enemy has even more.

Sure. It's so easy to throw up an ihub, upgrade, an outpost with a refinery, POS for the booster....

All to have yet another cloaky camper show up and shut down that system too.

You clearly have no freakin' clue what you are talking about.

LOL What part of "upgraded system" did you not udnerstand.

for your ore, thats why there are ships with things called JUMP DRIVES. etc etc

This prove my point, you simply don't want to use the tools the game gives you, you want a short cut (ie a way to go after the cloaky). You don't deserve and the game doesn't need a short cut, it' needs creative players who figure stuff out.

Thats what i do. i fit MWD+ cloak and stuff some projective ammo in my Dominix (i call the "moving Van") and just go live in a backwater system till the cloaky gets tired. As is usualyl the case, the problem isn't the game mechanic, it's EVe player laziness.

What's the problem with afk cloaking?

Wait, can a cloaked ship fire a cyno? Can it do..well anything, aside from being cloaked?

Didn't think so. If they're AFK, they're of no threat to you. If they're cloaked and active, they are using the tactical advantage cloak gives. It has some severe drawbacks, you know.

If you make some friends and play EVE multiplayer, a world of options open up to counter the "cloaky camper". It's the dude trying to AFK solo in null who gets jumped.

7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided. --Eve New Player Guide

Then you made a bad rental agreement. That's not the cloakys fault.

That means you are winning, because each cloaky is an account that can't do anything else. And they STILL can't cover an entire constellation let alone all of your region.

I'm clearly in an industrial/ship construction/mining/PVE corp that lives in null right this second, the name of which is directly below mine. We build ships that other people by then blow up. I'm odd in that i'm an explorer, most of my mates are miners. NULL MINERS.

We live in null, we make isk, we have fun etc etc. And yet you've found an excuse why you can't. You're simply doing it wrong.

The only people effected by AFK Cloakers are bots.

By Complaining about AFK cloaking, OP has admitted to botting.

CCP, Investigate OP for botting and apply banhammer as needed.

Seriously, remove local, and make cloacks work in WHs only...problem solved.

Uncloak, light the cyno, 1000 ships show up while we're still locking him...we all die.

Yeah. That is an AWESOME strategy for dealing with a cloaky camper.

Mining isn't industry? Industry doesn't require moving things in big, slow ships?

Again, more posts from people that are CLUELESS about how industry works.

Pure ignorance.

People that don't want their ship to go boom when the cloaky camper lights a cyno, are the people effected by cloakers!
