Jeeeeze it shouldn't be to hard for CCP to ad the options? As part of the overview setting /graphics settings :(. .... +1, I'm all for more flexibility with set-ups,

Well, there is a possibility of a quick and dirty hack to help temporarily until a good solution is made. If there is possibility to provide a 3x3 matrix to transform the colors on the screen, then you can for example permute the RGB color channels, or let the invisible one leak to the other two color channels.
The results won't be very pretty, but this can be done really fast. The settings even don't need to be extremely accessible.

I am not colourblind, but how hard could it be to fix this? A simple fix to help more people get the most out of the game. +1

Somewhat red/green colorblind here. As mentioned, there are levels of color deficiency.

Anyplace where small red/yellow/green icons are used it is usually difficult or impossible for me to distinguish. For example, in the probing interface we have had for a while now, I cannot distinguish between the yellow and green triangles that people tell me are there. They look identical to me. I can easily ignore that, since I need 100% to be useful anyway.

I changed the color of the little star indicating corp members, cuz I couldn't tell the difference between that green and the red of "bad guys".

And like another poster said, ECM modules -- Caldari and Gallente look essentially the same to me. Put them next to each other and I can tell a *slight* difference, but couldn't tell you which is which. So, just like the other poster, I fill the slots in alphabetical order.

Link to the 2006 thread from the Old Forum in the Sticky for commonly proposed ideas.

Why hasn't CCP picked up on this and done something yet? A nice free ride back to Page 1 and I hope this gets some Dev\CCP attention in addition to the two CSM Members who have flagged it to them and supported it.

EDIT: Scary that the date on that first post is 2006.05.25...just over 7 years now! Happy Anniversary Colour Impaired Capsuleer lobbyists. Keep fighting.

Accessibility options are a pretty important section to consider for any software design. I hope this gets some attention.

Thank you for this. I was wondering what it was like to have colour impairment. Damn, I was behind this from the moment I noticed it but after seeing that this should've been done years ago!

For goodness sake CCP, we have athletes with no legs running and winning Gold Olympic Medals and you can't add a "Colour Deficient Mode"? Apologies if that's not how you describe it.

Some interesting stats from the above link:

1 in 12 people have some sort of color deficiency. About 8% of men and 0.4% of women in the US.
0.38% of women are deuteranomalous (around 95% of all color deficient women).
0.005% of the population are totally colour blind.
0.003% of the population have tritanopia.
Protanomaly occurs in about 1% of males.
Deuteranomaly occurs in about 5% of males. It's the most common color deficiency.
Protanopia occurs in about 1% of males.
Deuteranopia occurs in about 1% of males.

+1, I'm getting pretty tired of this, CCP.

This is an accessibility feature, required by paying customers, and quite a few of them already.

Could we at least have any Dev feedback?

Not colour blind here, but +1 for those that are.
At least some recondition that threads like this exist from a CPP dev would nice.

I have trouble with red and greed when it is the same, shade or brightness and next to each other. What is really bad is when the colours switch. Red becomes green and green red. Nothing like seeing all the red trees and grass. Good thing it does not happen that often. Sometimes both just turn to brown.

I support this idea. Give us a way to set out own colours for things.

You'd think they would have as there's been support from two current CSM's members already. I really hope this is being driven home that this isn't acceptable behaviour in our modern world. I'd happily take an 'expansion' hit if it meant people wouldn't be disadvantaged.

Maybe 'Team Enable' need to be formed to work on issues like this. P*sses me right off that this hasn't been recognised at all though Devs and GM's will spend their time commenting on a thread about 'a corpse wanting new clothes'! Argggghhhh.

this is a stealth fire ccp art devs thread.

for as long as the game has been out the art department has been the single most ardent opponent to customization of the client for individuals.
basic options like POS revamp, clouds, text color changes, the suns intensity, the ship viewer light sources, etc.
All have been rejected by the art department for no reason.

and instead we get new noob ships.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.
