Been chatting about this on the alliance forums and a question had just come to mind.

Let's say you are training up two characters through this system and while training on both of them is running the time for it runs out. Which of the character's training is going to stop?

mmk that's a good point, there's a bunch of different ways CCP could tackle that..though i dunno. The worst possible is that if your subscription runs out then "oh well, should've thought about that" consequence.

:s

I have no doubt CCP have already considered this possibility and how to deal with it however it would be nice if we knew about it =P Also between now and when the new expansion deploys I don't think there is enough time for us to test this ourselves.

My own personal thoughts are that either the character with the highest SP training keeps running (Presuming that CCP do intend this feature to be for alts) Or the character who's skill que was last updated has their training continue.

Not really, no.

So first something that doesn't remove circumstances — just displace them in time and space, but make them the same as always, and now something that has nothing to do with consequences and which is already in place in a different, more cumbersome form. Ehm… what?

simple solution to the "which character stops training" is to simply not let you add 30 days training time to an alt if your subscription is less than 30 days longer than the time remaining on your alt's skill training activation thingy.

eg if you have 5 months left on your account, and you have 4.5 months on your 2nd character's skill queue you can't add more time on to your alt's skill queue.

alternatively, split it, so they both expire at the same time.

Not sure how i feel about this to be honest, on one hand it could be usefull, on the other i've got multiple accounts for multiple toons that i don't need logged in at the same time just to train them, this makes that all redundant.

The even simpler solution is that your account stays active until both PLEX have expired.

Quite useless in my opinion. Still better to have 2 accounts.

It costs $5 for a brand spanking new account with a 300 million isk implant when there's a sale. With that you get the price of 3/5ths of a PLEX AND you have another toon to play along with your main. This brings nothing.

What if you want to train up a cyno account on your main without having to train it on an alt account and then transfer it? (without stopping training your main I mean)

I totally support this product and/or service.

No really, I think it's about time we could do this.

Now I can train an Alt on my main account and take him or her out shopping when he or she is "ready", trained to fly around Jita shouting "TRADE @ DODIE"S TODAY" Twisted

If this update comes to TQ, it would be a brilliant $$$ maker for CCP and pretty decent for players wanting to train an Alt on the same account they play on most of the time.

I read somewhere in this thread that this was "wowifying" EVE. What ??? WTH has this got to do with making playing EVE as boring as "that" game ?

I think some moaners "just gotta moan, just because!"

Simpler still: if you're going to let the account lapse in 15 days, don't start training on a second character.

random speculation: Character Bazaar prices will rise at first as more people see character trading as viable income, then crash gradually as supply rockets.

There's a lot more there but that's why they call it speculation...

I thought the question of "which character stops training" had absolutely nothing to do with subscriptions but rather, well, which character stops training when the dual character training expires.
You can only activate dual character training for max 37 days in advance of the current date. As in, you activate it for 30 days, and then 7 days before it expires you renew it which I assume tacks another 30 days onto the end, so you're always within 37 days of dual training deactivating.

I think I agree with the above that the better solution to this problem would be to pause training for the character with less skillpoints.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Intuitively, they should probably flag the current character in training as the “main”, and it keeps training when the time runs out. What you do in the mean-time with the other two character and how you split the time between them (if at all) is up to you.

At least that seems to me like it would be most in line with how same-account alts will be trained.
