White Wolf was a successful and profitable company. How CCP purchased and ruined it will mystify me for years. Although to be fair, Justin Achilli didn't help them any with Requiem.

There's no PS3 vs. xBox derailment, because there's nothing to argue about.

514 can't be done on the xbox, because microsoft wouldn't allow the connection to EvE that's needed.

Read it up yourself.

Now go on and stay on topic.

If you think Vampires have been done to death, you've NOT seen WoD, period.

WoD would have been NEW and Unique and Amazing (if they kept to the oWoD IP anyways).

Then the smart move would have been to abandon the idea of a stupid console game and develop it for PCs.

It would have been well-received if they simply added some social element to it. Maybe a half station, a small lobby.... something.

As it stands, the "Incarceration" expansion wasn't a good one. I wanted to see more, and was willing to be patient, but they decided to "refocus", so now I'm skeptical.

They still kept the NeX store as is, expensive and insulting, and still very space-Nazee Fascist themed... with something else that I don't want to put my finger on. It's vapid and tasteless.

If we could have simply met some folks in a little waiting room, it could have been better. Then the "smuggling in stations" aspect would have made sense, instead of being let-on as vaporware.

Somehow I guess firing WoD team won't boost development of walking in stations because it supposed to use healthy chunk of WoD technologies... And it's sad.

Or maybe I am wrong?

A dev commented about this a few weeks back. Wis was almost finished, however they weren't satisfied because they didn't feel like it added enough "fun" for eve. Thus it was scrapped, and because the refocus is on fis now due to the riots. Development has all but been canceled for the next few years.

Calling DUST "just another FPS" might be as erroneous as accusing Planetside of being just another FPS.

There are elements to DUST that you just don't have in a traditional FPS, and those elements could be enough to make DUST stand out. If CCP can really make DUST players feel that they're playing an Eve style sandbox, then CCP might have a surprise hit. At worst, CCP would get "critical acclaim" and be touted as an "industry visionary," which is always helpful in getting investor funding.

Half-right, half-wrong.
Yes they did say that they didn't think the current WiS was fun thus gonna do something else with it.
But next few years however they never said, infact he said that we should keep our legs on because we will be using them soon enough.
Next few years is something you made up.
Kinda sad that the community is resorting to lying about things.

Main problem is that it's a FPS on a console and let's be honest, the market is oversaturated with FPS especially on consoles.
And doubt most console players know or even care about Eve Online and won't see the appeal(Might say that I do own a PS3 and intend to play Dust or atleast try it out.)
Vampire games are rare however and funny enough one of the best vampire games and also considered one of the best RPGs is Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, a WoD game.

So WoD would pretty much be a success(unless CCP screws it up royally) considering WoD already got a large fanbase(both from PC-side and PnP-side) who are looking forward to the MMO especially the PnP crowd and who can blame them ? Based on the info, CCP is making the WoD MMO very close to the PnP version adding the freedom that we love while staying true to the harshness of the rules.

Its worse that the PS3 already has lots of exclusive shooters.

i mean what would you get if u don't care about eve online

Uncharted
killzone
resistance
BF
Cod
or Dust 514..... ( lets be honest, dust 514 is a pretty bad name for a shooter)

on xbox its only competition would be halo, COD, gears ( but that is done with for a while) and battlefield, not to mention
every multiplatform shooter sells better on xbox
every xbox shooter exclusive sells more then the PS3 counterpart
i mean, halo 3 sold what, 10million lifetime? resistance SERIES might have 3million sales, and killzone 2 and 3 combined are probably around 7million in total, probably less.

Jesus Christ. Every post you make is about Xbox. Go RROD or something please.

Well as the previous post mentined, Microsoft wouldn't allow CCP to do what they wanted to do so a Dust on 360 would be impossible. Even Valve ran into the same problem when it came to their games.
Nothing to do with sale figures or being exclusive, CCP wanted a console shooter and Sony were the ones that could offer them what they needed, Microsoft didn't.
End of story.
