I spent some time out in Null. The carebears our alliance had were pretty cool about almost everything.
Unfortunately, my CEO wasn't. He expected PvP'ers to do *nothing* but PvP, and actually told me "if you need ISK, buy a PLEX. Don't let me catch you ratting or missioning."

My ex-wife was like that in the extreme, and it was always some BS she wanted to talk about lol.

She hated confrontation, so if she was saying something she might suspect would upset someone, she'd through in a little "ha ha" chuckle at the end of the sentence to give her a way to say "just kidding" if she needed to
, like a silly little insurance policy lol. Drove me mad (and out of the house lol).

As a nullbear, i appreciate this post. Most non-pvp or "pvp-lite" null players like me know we're out on the frontier and accept the fact that death waits around every corner, but especially the corners within 1AU of a gate (lol).

People like the "cloaky camper QQers" and "why you you pew pew me in null sec" folks like Asmodai Xodai are NOT representative of us Frontiersmen. Period.

Anyways, hypothetically if it was me shooting this OP this would be why.


As a realitive newbie it would mean that I was on one of my first nullsec roams. Me going to nullsec is pretty much me sticking a sign on my back. NOT BLUE TO ANYONE HERE SHOOT ME. I of course would be looking for people to shoot because not only surviving but actually killing someone in NULL would be a challenge. If I happened upon someone and thought I could take them I would give it a whirl. If I died. Woo! Still exciting.

Now if I didn't die the OP would be my first kill in Null that I survived and that would be cool.

That's it really. For someone that doesn't live in NULL the only reason to go there is to do a mission arc and/or try to survive while looking for people, anything will do to shoot, because it's has it's own set of challenges in comparison to other areas.

I like PVE, I also sometimes like to shoot actual people. Null is pretty much a 'Shoot or be shot' kinda place. Not really sure why there is even a question about it. It is Null.

I don't live in Null, so if I'm there, it's because I want to rack up as many kills as I can get, before the locals muster up and dead me.
