Last days i see lots of similar posts in local chats everywhere.

=====================
I'm Giving Away up to 7 BILLION ISK to Every Player!
Check Out My Wallet Journal API: (tricky link here)
Read My BIO For More Info: (link to scrub BIO)
SHARE THE WEALTH!
Send 1 isk to test my API.
====================

Tried to send 1.23ISK - for some journals i see it in history, for some - don't.
Site "API reader" doesn't allow easy registration so it looks very suspicious.

Just curious: where is the catch here? Looks like there is some filter by (something) in these "API journals". But if you don't see your donation you won't send more. Would anyone shed a light to this?

If it's too good to be true, it's scam.

8/7/2006 3:39:36 PM UTC FreeCCP Promotional Game Time 7 Days Paid

6/1/2012 5:48:57 PM UTC PayPal 1 x 1 Month EVE Subscription + Signup €19.95 Paid

CCP took 6 years to convert me to a (still) paying subscriber :)

it's all good and well known.

what is interesting atm: mechanics of this scam

For example: Erotica 1 use "i don't see your transaction because some troll trolled me bu hundreds of 0.01ISK transactions. Send it again...".
It's always good to know "how do they do it"

Doesn't the "gift" of 7 billion ISK require you to send more than 1 ISK though? At least that's the ones I've seen.

The more you send in the more you get back.

I guess the only way to find out whether it's true or not is to send them a few hundred million ISK to double.

Tell us how it went OP.

API information does not update instantly. It is cached on CCP's side to reduce the load on the servers. So, if you do want to try to play their games, give them the benefit of the doubt and wait a while (I think the wallet API data is cached for an hour).

Wrong, it can be almost instantaneous. It all depends on the API server's load ect..

Good scams are like a magic trick. You know the magician isn't really using magic, but it's fun to guess how they do it. This scam is similar.

My theory:

the incoming isk transactions are real, so when you send 1 isk you see it pop up.

The outgoing isk transactions are all fake.

I don't know the details but this is the one where he requires set amounts of isk to double triple or whatever? He either sets all of those to high amounts so you can't test if he actually pays, or he's set up a small amount that he does actually pay to coax you into then giving the high amount, which he does not.

That's just a scammer throwing ISK around to alts or friends doing the same so it looks legit.

My theory is if someone wants to give me free ISK, they know where to find me. I shouldn't need to prod them into doing so.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Why even bother understanding? It's an obvious scam. Just block the scammer and move on.

Do not bad-mouth the good name of Erotica 1, she is EVE's only true ISK doubler, she doubled my ISK.

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com
