Of all the news that has come out about this film, what else can you expect really? They only JUST got changed back in the scrit to actually being turtles and (maybe?) teenagers. They were f***ing aliens for a long time.

I am almost excited to see how badly Bay mutilates this franchise. Like watching a train wreck...can't look away.

Quite the opposite problem - The Flesh is willing, but the Spirit says "yuk - spoiled little brat." Some people get off on that - I'm just not willing to put up with it.

Was talking to someone whom knows a lot more about TMNT than is healthy, and he's pointed out that Bay has never liked the idea of the turtles being turtles, teenagers, or ninjas.

Which makes one wonder exactly why he was given the helm in the first place. 'Cause really, if he's so disconnected from the concept, the only thing he can do is steer it up onto the rocks.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

I read something similar after they announced they were initially going to be aliens. Makes you wonder that since he was forced to change it back to them being turtles and teenagers at that. Something he apparently loathes and is completely disconnected from. How much MORE of a mess will it be with a disinterested bad directer?

Possibly a resentful disinterested bad director. Could be quite the epic train wreck.

So you are saying it will be a typical Michael Bay film.

S'ok silens, I'm old also and I get where you're coming from.

Giving Bay the helm was like giving Brett Ratner the helm of the third X-men movie. A guy who admitted to having never read an X-men comic before directing.

sigh....

So, I'm guessing this is the death knell of TMNT.

Why must everything I loved as a child/still love be ruined?

Someone managed to make star trek good again. Im sure down the years will revive TMNT after all of the baysplotions have happened. I mean, after superman 3 nobody would have thought a superman film would be on anyones want to watch list again.

They just added William Fichtner to the cast, so that's a plus.
And Megan Fox is easily better than the frump from the old movies.

But yeah, obviously it will be terrible. It's Michael Bay.

Because Hollywood sees these 'nostalgia' movies not as treasured childhood memories, but a rich vein of gold to be mined.

Apparently 95% of Hollywood films over the last 5 years have been reboots or re imaginings or adaptations of an existing concept in the popular mindset.

Maybe not THAT bad, but you've got the general flavor of things.

To Hollywood, "if it sold before, it will sell again" is a tried-n-true money-making concept. It's true often enough that Hollywood *will* keep coming back to the well.

Someone with suberb photoshop skills quickly put Karen Gillans head (and thumb) on that pic and email it to Michael Bay. Maybe its not too late to reshoot what they have and correct this grievous error of judgement before they sodomize the eyeballs of the TMNT faithful with this.

If Karen Gillan happened to be in it, I would be constantly waiting throughout the entire movie for the Doctor to show up and save the day. Lol
