Curious to know something about the drone commmand "assist" and "guard".


Say i have a mining ship with 5 combat drones and a battlecruiser with 5 drones.

Mining ship = Ship A
BC = Ship B


Situation:

Ship A has it's drones out and guarding it but also wants them to engage targets Ship B attacks and vice versa, so Ship B's drones will also defend Ship A.


Will the 'guard' command allow this or is it essentially Guard the target or guard me, but not both?



OR will drones auto assist squad members in their control range?

Pretty sure it's guard that guy, or guard me. The guard and assist commands are also coded to not work 100% of the time. That's why most people would just have them on aggressive and hope for the best.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I think it's:



Assist: Drones shoot anything the guy shoots.
Guard: Drones shoot anything that shoots the guy.

Aggressive: They basically do a combination of those two, when not ordered to do something else, but with the guy being you.
