Hey guys, im a few hours off piloting a stealth bomber ( Purifier) ,and a few days off fitting one. The only problem is i have NO idea how to fit it, and no idea for tactics to use one

Can a few experienced pilots suggest a few must have modulus or skills i should train...?

Thanks in advance

torpedoes
target painter
bomb launcher (if using in null sec)
sensor damp if using in pvp
cloaking (for a cloak duh)

Also why train for something you have no idea what you will use it for?

So you have no idea what you want to use it for, how to fly it, and how to fit it? You probably trained it because the name sounds cool.

If you are planning on pvping in it, stealth bombers excel in groups and require lots of coordination and timing.
If you want to pve in it, then lol.

Well to be fair, how else am i going to find out without information from other pilots? Think of it as a passage of knowledge :)

Well I would think the logical approach to this situation would be to first ask what people use them for BEFORE training for it... but hey that's just me.

I'll list a few things you do with stealth bombers:

Ratting in asteroid belts
FW missions
Bombing people in null-sec
general high dps in pvp against large targets
covert ops hotdrops on big targets mainly capitals
suicide tackling high value targets
scouting

Does any of this appeal to you?

Research ship before training. Why waste weeks only to discover that it doesn't suit you.

I have a Manticore fit:

Manticore
3 Arbalest Torps, Covops Cloak, Probe Launcher
1mn AB, MSE, Scram, Painter
2 BCU
2 ACR

I've solo killed all kinds of **** with it. Several battle cruisers (Harbingers, Hurricanes, Tier 3s, etc. Avoid Myrms and now Prophecies).

Training would be:
- Basic Ship Supports
- Torps 4-5
- Missile Supports 4-5
- Covops 4-5
- Cloaking 4
- Painter Spec 4

Just a minor point (as I saw another bomber post today making the same mistake)
Use PWNAGE target painters (meta 4) not T2 painters. The effect is the same, but the meta 4 are easier to fit and cheaper last i looked.

Also, look up "bomber bar". It is a channel in game and a good place to learn.

Beat to mentioning bomber bar! Drat

That aside start learning now how to do bombing runs as a group. Nothing ruins bomber gangs more than a snow flake. Understanding how bombs deploy and why they need to be coordinated is important stuff.

Next train into cyno and cov-cyno. Even if you hate actual bombing those will make you a hero for scouting and cap work.

At the end of the day (as said above) bombers in PvP can be very effective in high discipline gangs. They can do some interesting but limited pve jobs. (That count I have never tested myself). But your first job is likely to be that of a fwd observer fleet scout or blood hounding targets for your gang. Learning how to move in and around other ships and objects and not decloaking is job #1.

If your corp doesn't field bomb/blop wings however you may need to decide quick if scouting is for you. It can be thankless hi risk and disproportionately boring work.

Yes! I do quite fancy ratting some ships and delving into PVP

Iv left skills training for torpedos (i have areblasts fitted) and a bomb launcher, also a cloaking device obviously too

I have a phased muon too with i think range scripts on, i also have a target painter and a mwd

What supplimental skills do you all recommend training too? Note im piloting a purifier too.

Any corps too that center on stealth bombers?

I greatly appreciate your help too!

other than the corp that runs bomber bar chat i dont know of any. but the guys in there will take any 1 out and i believe they operate on a "if its not purple shoot it" policy. just head in X up and go nuts

if it wasnt for the bullet nobody would fear the the gun

You want to make the most of your torps per shot so train guided missile precision and target navigation prediction ( I think) and then you want signal focusing to increase the efficacy of your painters ( this is off the top of my head so forgive me if I get a name wrong).

I use one to surprise folks in WHS. Noctis on cleanup is good.

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

:) hy, the nemesis is one of the greatest SB for solo work

cloak
3x arbalest lauchers
bomb launcher

MSE
1 mn ab II
Disruptor II

2x Balistical control II

-DPS 470 overheat dps with my skills (missile suport skills at 3 4 , torps at 3 cov ops at 4)
Cap last 2 minuts

-with lvl 5 skills DPS is 590 overheat and cap stable (and you can drop a ancilar rig with a cheap PG implant and fit another one)

-rigs 2 ancilar rigs

-it's a beast....you should fly a SB only when you have cov ops 4, its a short training time for cov ops 4 , my missile skills are not that good and it still has huge dps.

-it's good for fleets and for hunting people rating that dont have their EM hole filled up, so do some research and find the areas in wich you can succesfuly do that.

-Purif is a great ship learn to fly it, perfect skills and GL Hunting (can kill any tier 3 BC except talos, rating BS, BC and a quick youtube search can get you a lot of footage,)

There is another fit with a MWD and cap booster has less eph but can escape gate camps more often and can do more stuff but its more SP hungry and a lot more harder to fly and managing cap so use this one, master it first.

You're joking aren't you?

OP, you have no kills listed on the board? A stack of T1 frigates in lowsec will teach you just as much about PvP as SBs and be much cheaper. You will also find a lot more opportunities.

If this is your first PvP experience I can guarantee you will make many embarrassing mistakes. Do it cheaply so it doesn't hurt.
