Make it into a regular/semi-regular event (ala Word of Tanks regular discounts and bonuses), then you might have something going to perk the interest level for EVE .
Things like 5-10% increase to mining yields for just a weekend, etc. etc. ...... just a sample of what's possible that won't make too big a dent in the economy.
