servus,

after thinking a while about the whole avatar thing, and basically what exactly makes it not fit for everybody for this game i came up with the following idea to make it more appealing for the core players

i would suggest to make it possible not only to choose flesh human body avatars but also avatars like small AI like Drones (simular like gultiy spark in halo for example), basically what most want is to escape that human flesh as it is so bound to our world, bringing human flesh avatars to the game makes it so like real world again, who needs that piece of meat on our bones anyway, in the future we will have uploaded our brains to computers, or are more like cyborg enhanced beeings, there are studies for that

adding those human bodies is the main problem i think for most because it does not feel futuristic enough like they are at the moment, when you can choose a Robot or a Drone AI or a Cyborg that would fit much better into the game

I suggest you also create a fitting screen for all (human and robot) avatars but not the one we have like adding cloth, we need real fitting for implants and enhancements, this would give it again a futuristic touch and coulld add a lot to the game, you could enhance your avatar with attributes boosts and all kind of stuff, same like you can do it with your ship, it needs to be complex

then when you finally open the station door, those avatars could interact in various ways, they could even be able to go to a wreck and scan stuff inside, maybe also shoots things but the mechanics should be simular like the space mechanics, running around with the flesh like avatar in ships gives it that unappealing feeling for most people, but flying around with a drone scanning and interacting with stuff would fit much better, you cann still have the other human avatars for those who want that, but as an option i would like to have more robot futuristic style avatars

yea think about it, i want to see those AI flying around in the station when the door finally opens!

yea the monocle those do not have any use in the game, the Cyborg stuff i would want has an Impact on the attributes and mechanics in game, it would be much more meaningfull compared to dressing up the barbies :D honestly i think that would be great, I want that KI Drone so much, should the others move around with the barbie :D I want to use my Drone Scanner on those apes and see what is inside :D

Shut up about that god damned door. I wish they'd just delete captains quarters entirely so we stop hearing about this crap.

After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary.  -Fozzie

This idea has already been suggested and the devs commented on it if i remember correctly.

CCP is no longer willing to put time and effort into doing a good job of the whole avatar/WIS thing. Cry

AI Drones in huge stations that would be something different, maybe they should get rid of the flesh avatars all together and just make the AI Drones, you could fly arround in the station like in space with that thing, they even could add combat

Yeah i understand the concept, it is not an original proposal... I wish CCP were willing to continue work on avatar game play, but unfortunately, they are not.

original? no word is original... they are still thinking about it, you are not up to date

I think this is a really cool idea, but I don't believe it will ever happen.

We're humans plugged into spaceships. How much more cyborg can it get?

Just pretend you're nothing but a wire-framed body under all that "meat", and not really human.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

If you replace Cyborgs and Robots with Pandas and Nightelfs, this sounds just like a 'Make Eve more like WoW' thread.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

it should not look human, it should look like guilty spark 343 or something else, completely different, robotic entities, the cyborg was just an option for those who can not leave behind their human form, i would choose an AI Drone as avatar, its about how it looks, the barbies do not fit the game... and to give meaning to your avatar, at the moment there are skills and atributes but I want more so you can have a fitting page for your avatar like you have for your ship, more implants and booster stuff, vision enhancements etc. also the mechanics in the station should not be like walking around it should be like flying in a big space station searching for things and interacting with other drones and stuff

you don't get it, it seems when you hear avatar or WiS all of you think just about one thing, first understand better the meaning of my idea and then talk, I meantioned already that those drones fly around in those stations like we fly in space searching for stuff maybe interacting with other drones, that is a complete different game mechanic compared to walking with barbies, open your mind for new ideas

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.
