The reality is, we know there will tags for secs. Until we know spawn rates we just can't tell if this will be balanced, broken from inception, or renders sec status as useless.

Well more rare than regular rats but not as uncommon as faction/officer spawns....I guess that puts them somewhere around the mineral hauler rat spawn rate which would be good.

People who think the lonely low sec pilot will have a chance at these tags are foolish. Big alliances will be streaming to these belts to fight for these tags and billions of ISK involved in the process.

You are right, of course. It will be like the moon materials: a cash machine for a few. The NPC sec-tag droppers should be in high-sec, not low sec, or, better, randomly appear in any system, high, low, or null. Everyone knows that this scheme as currently proposed will not bring more pilots into low sec.

Pardon my noobness but havent these tags always been around? I thought it was just the location and rarity of the drops that will change?

More haulers then pirates in eve , and they do couriers for small change so it does not matter if it is or is not your main.

And besides a low-sec pirate normally doesn't give a crap about sec stat.Didn't hurt me in any way to be -10 in the past at least.Hell , usually it made it more fun and interesting.

The reall downside of being neg ten is when you decide to give up the pirating , only then it is a burden as you have to grind back sec.But only if you decide to go to high-sec for a career switch because if your a pie and decide to live in null then the neg ten again has no downsides.Appart from people with ****** up overview settings that is Blink.

Well security status isn't much issue here. It can be fixed one way or another.
Real problem are standings to NPC corps which in my case are terribad. You loose some standing every time you kill a guy from NPC corp. After 3 years of pirating im -10 to most.
This cannot be fixed so Im pirate for life.

Even if someone will buy sec status with tags - killrights stays so they still can be hunted in hisec. True question is who will dare to do this?
