I mean, I know you've already implemented one from the same author, but the quality of this battleship and its fidelity to Gallente design philosphy is just too great to ignore. Do the Dominix a favor.

No!

You have an issue with how the Domi looks? That's your opinion and you're allowed it.

But it is just your opinion.

Yes, the Domi could do with a little update, but a total redesign is the wrong way to go.

Please leave the Domi's overall shape alone for all of us that are very happy with its functional looks.

Yes, that's a lovely design for a ship, but it just isn't a Domi.

But they are redoing the Apoc model, why can't they touch the Domi exactly? Not re do it entirely but at least make it look like something else than a space potato, no?

I didn't say leave it untouched. But ...

A small update, added detailing etc - cool Big smile

Anything that removes the overall feel - uncool Sad

The Dominix is a van.

Sure vans get updated over time and new models come out, but they don't exactly suddenly get pretty, they're built for function, not form. Now I'm sure people will think of linking things like this to say that vans can be awesome too, but those are modded vans, something the crazy van enthusiasts would do, but behind all that paint and modding, it's just a van. It's nothing special to look at, but it does it's job.

needs more red, and a spoiler.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Look, the Domi is already awesome, maybe bung a drone bay door on it and you're done.
Why do I want a 'sleek' Domi? So it is graceful and majestic as it flitters about above spring meadows? No I want a big fat unit that spits out drones all day long and generally just sits there, it needs to be as aerodynamic as a potato so they built it the same shape as one!

Save that for another Gallente hull..they are redesigning the Domi, not rebuilding it from scratch.
That image doesnt even look anything like the current Domi...

My guess is that theyll just make the new domi somewhat more streamlined with a [hopefully] very big and detailed dronebay.

I'm waiting for Seth Green to come along and to a youtube video p*ss take stating: *Leave the Domi alone*...P

EDIT: Also not to mention, people keep saying it needs to be streamlined...Were in space people...Air resistance isnt a factor...streamlining not needed...

how ever on the gallentian school for ship construction, apprentice ship designers learn:
ships look either like space-cancer or if you redo them very sleek and streamlined.
thatswhy gallentian ship yards have a special machine which takes newly finished hulls and sucks on them till they look like a half finished candy.

all the new additions and reworks of gallente ships are super awesome (talos, megathron, algos, nemesis) . it's about time the dominix gets the same treatment. a great ships which looks just uninspiring.

Redesign the Domi all you want. In the end, it's just a bottle of cheap champagne and a few wasted words: "I christen thee, Bloated Guppy"...

Wait, you want to replace the Domi with something even uglier? Madness...

I'm not 100% sure I "love" that one that was posted, however it is 300 times better than the domi is now. I don't care what anyone says such as "its iconic leave it alone" because the domi as it is now is nothing more than a motorcycle that someone forgot to put the wheels and handle bars on...

I'm am ALL for changing the entire look of the Domi and the Vex...

ALL HAIL OUR GREAT LORD SPACE POTATO

The domi is is a 500 meter brick with a million drones, some blasters, and little engines strapped to the back. It's fine.

I was at The Art of EVE roundtable. Concept art for an updated Dominix exists in the CCP art department, but they're not doing anything with it yet. This doesn't mean it is or isn't happening, just that it exists.

...and no, I don't have a picture of it. No-one does.

As for just changing the Sin, my question to them was 'are they going to continue the awesome trend of making T2 ships badass versions of their T1 selves' to which the answer was yes...

A few notes though, that I confirmed with the Tech Art and Art guys: the Raven/Golem models are exactly the same because this was the first one they did. The Mega/Kronos are only slightly different. The Tempest/Vargur are noticeably different. Tech Art told me that while the Apoc model is finished, the Paladin is not, but it will be noticeably 'tankier' than the Apoc. Apart from the Golem, you can see the trend the art department is taking. So far only with bombers and marauders, but let's hope it sticks.

What? if it was an aircraft I dont think it would have the word sea in it. Maybe if it were a naval ship.
