The implementation of these is horrible.
The fact that directors can't empty them makes them beyond useless.
Hell, you can't even take a POS down with one of these up, you need to blow it up first...
Poor form from CCP on this one.

There is no Bob.

Yeah it certainly feels half baked. Though i'm still hopeful that CCP will make a few adjustments, they could prove useful and functional if given a few tweeks.

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

Usefulness in w-space is limited, imo.

40K of space isn't much, especially when you have a few guys that require more space and several others who may not. Lots of inefficiency there since space can't be re-allocated.

I also don't know many players who don't have alts in w-space. That's going to be a PITA for some, a blessing for others.

I'm reluctant to bring one in for my guys. CHA's work well and are able to be compartmentalized. They all want one of course, so it will come. I just think ultimately, everyone is going to be "meh" when they hit that 40K limit and want another one or go back to CHA's.

Besides, there's cheaper ways to provide shtton's more space securely.....no...not GSC's. And it takes 0 pg/cpu.

Don't ban me, bro!

If you blow these up, do they drop loot?

I think the new PHA will help when it comes to mods/loot and small stuff like that. Where the real ISK is, the fitted ships , is still going to be a problem.

From what I've gathered at the last two Fanfests CCP is (or at least has been) reluctant to change the current POS modules since the POS system will be remade completely anyway. What's I find annoying with that is that this line of reasoning has been put forth with other problems and then years pass with no change to the underlying code. An example is the signatures that change during downtime. Players want them to stay the same and the official CCP response is "we are making away with downtime anyway, so the problem will not exist soon". This was Fanfest 2011.

Dev time these days or for the shiny stuff. The stuff that draws new player in. What is put on the back-burner is the infrastructure, the things that in way way or another breaks or seriously hampers game-play.
