Bitterhub - A station only accessible to 10yr subscribers

CCP Soundwave mentioned at Fanfest some kind of loyalty reward for 10 year subscribers. It will be some kind of station which only 10yr+ players can dock in. There weren't many more details.

A few questions:

1. Continuous subscription or total subscription (or even based purely on birth-date)? The first seems a bit harsh as there will be lots of people (me included) who have the occasional few-days lapse when the renewal date falls during a holiday or just before payday.

2. Account or character linked?

3. Any unique features relating to this station, or is its only 'exceptional' characteristic its exclusivity?


Anyway I foresee a huge number of us "subscribed bittevets who don't play" spinning our gold pods or admiring our monacles in such an establishment in the near future.

The ultimate irony would be if it's the only station with a working door on the CQ. The tears, they would be epic.

I played beta, had a character for a few years, came back, played a new character, took a break, came back, so on. I've been here off and on, so the ten year thing makes me shrug a bit.

More, it's that I'm trying to find the line between rewarding loyalty and-- I'm not sure. Capitalizing on loyalty in a way that doesn't add more content or iteration to the game?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with rewarding long term players by throwing them a bone, especially one that gives them no extra in game advantage of any sort.

It's called rewarding customer loyalty, and it works.

It's also very much appreciated.

Edit: In fact, without getting carried away, I wouldn't object to a station dedicated to 5 year vets as well. That's quite a stretch in anyone's book for game loyalty.

Well - I would prefer getting a Jove char portrait, although I admit 10 years might be a bit too .. early .. for that.

I think it should be tied to SP. If you hit 50% SP of max possible a new skill unlock to you which is called "Jove" - let's say it takes about 3 years to push it to lev 5 and each level unlocks some sculpting options making you more and more Jove - like. I would train it. Once I would get that far.

Here, sanity... niiiice sanity, come to daddy... okay, that's a good sanity... THWONK! GOT the bastard.

CCP can do this on condition that this station is in either NOL, VFK or HED.

The funny thing is that there obviously need some WiS stuff for this "club". Overwise WTF? For 10 yars of playing the game i'll be able to...what? Spin the ship in one more station? Bullshit. There is a lot of better ideas for 10+

in 2007 i've thought it's a sci-fi simulator, not an "e-sports" game. I'm not a teenager, how would i like it much?

Most games have yearly loyalty or veteran rewards, ingame stuff you get the longer you have been subscribed, so why not Eve.

Just give us something unique and unestructable. Like different color for forum and character. Maybe x10 bio length.
Fanfest VIP access.
Maybe some exclusive avatar options. Custom clothes? Created by the player, approved by CCP, or created by CCP for a player from his description. Which can be sold to the others after that, not for cheap and with some % for the owner :)
Maybe some IRL stuff.

o well, i saying "us" although i'm not nearly there yet, but i'd like to know if there will be something grreat :)

Its a bitterhub - the appropriate systems are HLW in curse, 1M4-FK in Querious, Mara/Passari or FD-MLJ, the hotspots of 2003.

Or even better, Yulai X

That's exactly the idea. Just another station where some old farts can spin their ship. Also, a place everyone else can camp to gank bittervets 23/7 and drown local in verbal poo.
