mind links need to go away

Mindlink bonus completely dwarfs the ship bonus.
A Damnation with Skirmish mindlink will boost skirmish (much) better than a Loki without mindlink.

This makes the expected change to CS/T3 almost useless, as you will only be able to fit a single mindlink anyway, making you really good for only one kind of links: the one you have the mindlink for, regardless of any ship bonus you might have.

Making mindlink less specialized, like for instance giving +50% to primary bonus and +30% to others, would be a really good change along with CS change.
It would allow for truly good "mixed" boosting if you take the right ship and right ganglinks on it.

You still won't be able to give max boost everywhere with one ship, and will need to clonejump if you really want the perfect boost, but other than that you'll be efficient in small gang scenario with what your fleet needs (shield resistance + point range + ewar strenght for instance)

Just to clarify, it doesn't give a 50% boost exactly, It replaces a 10% boost from a 17 day skill que with a Fixed 15% boost. and it changes a 2.5% to a 3.75% Command Bonus (that requires a 30+ day skill que).

So it's not changing every ship in a fleet from 50k EHP to 100k EHP, more like 50k EHP to 59k EHP.

No one here is saying that it doubles your ehp, I have no idea where you cooked that one up. People are stating, correctly I might add, that mind links increase the effectiveness of your links by 50%. This is a MASSIVE increase in the bonus amounts.

The whole link system and honestly many of the bonuses that implants grant are totally out of whack... Too many bonuses that stack with each other that inevitably throw off any attempt at balance the devs are striving for. When a Vulture/Tengu booster with a mind link can more than double my active tank, something is extremely wrong. The reality is that links and implants as a whole (including mind links) need some very very serious rebalancing.

altho i have a legion and a loki, i have never boosted with it.
i am a diehard command ship pilot. i dont get where you guys are saying that it more than doubles your tank.

ive run incursions with my OGB maxed skills armor with command processors and other links. with the 15% bonus to armor and the 32% to resists, the best i have ever given was about 40k EHP. this is coming from ships of 100k EHP or more.
t3 boosting being 5% plus others might be wack, but in no scenario do i ever see it more than doubling your tank.

t3 nerf is coming. thatll be a good thing. i couldnt see an "all around" ship boosting better than a dedicated booster ship.

prollem is tho, we will no longer be boosting only armor. the amarr will be boosting skirmish just as well as armor now.
the gallente will be boosting armor and intel. so, if one has an armor implant, will it be 50% to armor or are they changing to "amarr mind implant" which boosts armor/skirmish, or "gallente racial" which boosts intel and armor?

it would be dumb to have to split the bonus. it would flat defete the purpose of giving dual bonuses when we can arrange that now.

Or possibly racial mindlink lines. Matching the CS specs.

This might be an interesting change.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

if they fixed offgrid boosting, this problem would not exist, people would obliterate command ships to tactically nerf the enemy fleet, and thus those implants would be a very important asset that would explode quite often regardless of its price and power.

there is nothing wrong with OFB. our military today had the link 16, CEC and several other things that allow ships to chat within xxx mile radius. i can paint a bad guy on the radar of an ally ship being jammed and someone else can guild the jammed ships missile to destroy said jammer. i did this in the us navy.

altho i wont go into specifics, we have GREAT capabilities now, let alone races in the future with space travel, warp drive and whatnot.

they have instant communication and if the OGB has sufficient CPU, it can process, extrapolate and direct all info for the benefit of everyone. now, i like the idea of cmd ships being sent to the front lines, dont get me wrong. rorquals on the other hand will loose their value because very few peeps will be taking this 4 bill isk ship to a roid belt and risk being jacked.

of course, i will, but not many have the wild/crazy streak i have.

so, whats it gunna do? sit in a pos and become a giant trash compactor while the orca sits in the belt.
