Was it 49702 votes total? out of 400k-500k?
I am surprised 1 HI sec rep made it TBH, otherwise it does appear to be a NULL SEC thing.

Just seconding this.

Really really strange.

It's ok. I look forward to the day when EVE is F2P.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

Crikey, imagine how low it would have been if the "Vote Now" evegate email hadn't gone out.

CSM has been less and less of interest to players. Most of the player driven changes had been made after ccp looked at subscriptions dropping. Now csm never really interacts with players through the forums created for that purpose - assembly hall. CSM interested in players ideas ended with csm5.

They only give minutes after they have been sterilized by ccp and csm. They only speak at fireside chats and blogs where they can control the forum/discussion. CSM has become a buffer seperating ccp from the players. Its no wonder the players aren't interested in supporting them.

People don't care about who wins the popularity contest to be unpaid testers of some dumb video game.

******* shocker.

So far 2 CSM's been banned due to activism ( Darius III & ANKH ) so the barrier is there

There was literally no voter suppression, they advertised it with an in-game link at log-in screaming "GO VOTE FOR CSM PLZ GUISE"

I was never able to find out just what exactly ANKH did. That happened just a few months after I started playing (but actually voted for Vile rat).

There was next to no advertising of the campaign. There was no incentive to vote.

For most people there was no reason to vote.

The voting mechanism had multiple steps and wasn't clearly laid out - as such why would someone vote when there is no vested interest in doing so?

I voted 'cause well... I vote in real life as well. I had no real interest in who won or what the CSM does.

Heck, I still don't really know what the CSM does and I've played EVE for a long time.

Basically, the communication of the voting process and what the CSM is about was lacking in the extreme.

For next year I hope that CCP starts talking about the CSM vote months before the vote. Get people interested and maybe even give out t-shirts (in-game that is) that say "I voted." But, first, a question needs to be answered: why should a player vote? If the incentives for voting do not outweigh the obstacles to vote then the vast majority of people will not vote. This election proves that.

Very disappointing indeed.

Hopefully next year we'll get more support from CCP and perhaps an in game vote.

I think during the election there should be a screen as part of the login process, Vote Now, Later, or Abstain. None of the Above vote would be interesting as well.

If you are going to do a pre-vote primary-esque kind of thing ditto for that.

PS - Voter awareness and education are not things that can be done at the last minute. Hope that was made clear from this year's results.

Once again, If CCP really wants to involve the member base, all they have to do is put the voting booth IN GAME.....

Problem is, CCP clearly does not understand the customers they attract. Oops

Talking about NDA breaches often breaches the NDA. Blink

The insinuation was always that she had leaked info to another gaming company.

I just made a strawberry peanut butter smoothie for lunch. Its delicious!

After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary.  -Fozzie

Actually I believe there is a good shot they will do just that. I think Dolan mentioned it in the CSM interview with Xander. Not something he could get done this year, but he'd like to see it done for the next election.

We need to keep up the support for that idea. It will take some coding hours but I think well worth it.

Oh, please. *I* figured it out, first try, without problem. If I can do it, anyone ought to be able to figure it out. P

I am surprised that Mike Azariah made it. He was my 1st choice and hang me if I recall who where the rest (essentialy the 3 who ranked higher at the vote match).

But then lower voter turnout ceems to no surprise. Hilmar was quick to spin that and suggested that last year's election was loaded with interest, but then he should tell us why the election got the same voters with 500k susbcribers in 2013 than it got with 400k subscribers in 2011.
