Yeah, CSM8 has its work cut out for it. Might want to raid the petty cash to hire a marketing/ad agency. =/

This CSM will end up driving the final nails into high sec's coffin.
I am sure they will be high-fiving each other by Aug 2014, giggling at all the damage they have wrought with the largest meta-gank of the largest population of Eve.

And, despite all the whining from CSM7 to destroy high sec, what are we getting from Odyssey?

Spod will now net half the trit per M3 of veld, and a few extra outpost slots to sit largely unused in null.

CCP knows where their bread is buttered. Calls by CSM to destroy high sec and force carebears out of high sec (by them quitting the game) will continue to go largely ignored.

Well, high sec mining got hammered, which also means high sec mission looting got hammered.
Ice mining is now in the hands of cartels with the resources/ pilots to control the supply.
Suicide gankers now have "buy your sec status back".

All changes were neutral to high sec income, or a transfer of wealth away from high sec.
And these transfers will just accelerate with the new CSM.
T2 mfg has not been wiped out from high sec, but it is on the table.
The goon lead game designer has stated formally he wants to remove T2 mfg from high sec, and his position inside CCP has been strengthened in the last 6 months.

The changes announced in the last few days are just another victory for the null sec zealots in their long term campaign against high sec. Bit by bit, they chip away at wiping out high sec, and the next 2 iterations under the control of this CSM will be the death strokes.

If it's of any comfort to you, I unreservedly oppose any such compromise of the sandbox.

You grant CSM far more power than is their due, yanno. I understand paranoia, but really, a bit of reading would dispel it; CSM has a seat at the table; it does not drive the agenda, nor does it make the decisions.

I'm fairly content with this CSM slate. Most of my candidates made it.

Oh my.
Why does “highsec” so often remind me of a fat man who's being told that cookies for breakfast, lunch and dinner might not be the best of ideas? Lol

Thank [favourite higher power] that this is not actually a representative view for most highsec residents.

Actually they're getting Mike Azariah. I'm surprised he made it!

Surprised, but glad!

Apart from that, looks like everyone I was rooting for made it.

CSM 8 should be good! Big smile

Yeah it was pretty gratifying to see Mike finally get his reward. If anyone's earned a slot on this CSM, it's him.

Now to oppose him at every step!

More seriously: Congrats all. I wish I could have worked with you, but I know you'll do a good job.

This is a common argument that I don't generally believe. I think the best that can be said are that many in highsec are more casual players and thus are just not as well-informed. What highsec needs is a coalition that helps to keep it informed of what is going on Eve and allows them the opportunity to better add their voices to the overall narrative. They're not necessarily apathetic; they're just not well-organized.

Which organization exists... where? Nowhere. Because no one can be arsed to create it, or to join it. AKA: Apathy.

Which is a bigger myth, EvE is a sandbox or the CSM's actually have a fundamental impact on the game?

Just to get the tinfoil ready... but if you have a force on the CSM aligned with a dev.... things will go in their favor.

Not that it is guaranteed to, but yea...

The game as a whole is paramount regardless however.

Half the names on the list are those I've argued with, as well as voted for.

Let's see what happens =)
