EVE Online: Incarna 1.1.2 has been deployed. The patch focuses on increased hangar functionality, including the return of ship spinning, a new Cider engine for the Mac client and several other fixes. A Client Update is also available, focusing on further improvements with ship spinning. The full patch notes can be found here.

Mac-specific fixes

  • A number of stability adjustments have been made for the new Cider engine. These include file descriptor race conditions, segment caching in memory and raising the ceiling limit for open file descriptors.
  • An EVE Voice connection problem, where users were unable to reconnect to EVE Voice after losing or closing their connection, has been resolved.

For general feedback on Incarna 1.1.2 please use this thread.

In hangar mode, I'm seeing my ship, but it stubbornly refuses to spin. What?

Update: killing both cache and all settings restored proper behavior.

Since incarna came out, I've been running eve at the lowest settings most of the time. On occasion I would up the graphics settings to look at a shiny ship or whatever.

I tried that today to celebrate the return of ship spinning, and I get a crash to desktop. I try to log back in and I get this error;

"Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x00000000 at address 0x8f0d975f.
Do you wish to debug it ?"

followed by a crash to desktop. My other client (cloned off of this one) works fine at the moment.

Can you give me a few details please and i'll take a look into it?

* Ship type
* Mac hardware details
* Graphics settings.
* Race of the station you are docked in.

Looks like your client is having problems connecting to our autopatching service, you can try manually downloading and applying the patch, here is a link to the download:

Proteus, but ship type did not matter.

Last years Macbook Pro. Running 1600x1000 windowed.

Basic graphics settings, towards the low end. Changing these did not affect matters.

Inherent Implants station in Bittanshal.

Some more details:

1) Trebor runs on my main install. I have several sub-installs (the usual symlink procedure), logging into Trebor on these installs worked fine.

2) Therefore I suspected a cache or settings issue. Killed cache. No effect.

3) Killing all settings *restored* the proper ship spinning behavior. Had to reconfigure my client though (grumble ***** whine).

I have yesterday's settings files backed up in Time Machine if they will be helpful.

According to initial reports this doesn't seem to be a Mac specific issue, instead it seems linked to character settings. See here for a reported workaround:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=205593#post205593

We will continue to investigate with the aim of releasing an official step by step workaround procedure. Thanks for helping us pin this down.

I Have downloaded the patch and then when i loaded up EVE it came up with the usual message saying that it needed to close so that it could update the client and it did, eve closed and Ipatch opened to update the files. However when EVE restarts, it then brings up the same message and then repeats the process. It will constantly repeat this process until I force quit the application.

Im using a Macbook with leopard 1.5.4.

I cant install the patch.

After downloading the patch, i run it. Immediately a verifying procedure started: it always stops halfway, with a pop-up windows saying i have to reinstall ( i tried 4 times).
Checking the logs, i noticed this:

Examining File : /Contents/MacOS/cider -> SHA1 Error

Rest is all OK.

I got a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X (10.6.8), 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5.
So far patches went just fine, but i'm playing on mac only for a couple of months.
I also run multiple clients on it. To do that i followed the manual procedure on the evewiki.

I'm already downloading the client again, but it wouldn't be bad to find a faster solution. :)

Try using the repair functionality of the generic patcher, it looks like your client has a bad version of Cider which prevents the patch from completing, here is a link to the generic patch:

Please try the generic patcher, it handles broken clients better than the built patches do:

Every time there is a patch recently, I have the same message that some files have been changed and the patch quits. I have included the bag log entry. Please can someone tell me what to do as I am fed up having to download the whole eve client everytime.

That's cutting it rather close to the system requirements, I'd hazard a guess at this being the root cause. Why it only manifests after this specific patch is however not clear. Here is a link to the system requirements wiki:
