I kind of get your point and did get a feeling when they were handing out the cards that, despite I'm sure those guys are really dedicated to eve, they are also obviously well off financially to be able to fund the account constantly for ten years. Where as someone who gets made unemployed would have to take a break perhaps or pay for a month at a time until they find a new job.

But as for your feeling of being owed something for having an old character, then surely just having had been a part of eve for almost ten years is enough of a reward in itself.

To be honest I'm surprised Chribba didn't get a card, he definitely should have in my opinion considering the amount he has done for the community.

FW players got a medal for doing something, im just surprised there no medal for being a bitter vet and having a trophy to prove it.

I love eve, i have a pc and an internet connection and i will continue to play as and when i have time and money to do so.

eve forever.


EDIT: this char has not played since 2003 but i have played eve since then, i dont expect anything at all for Muad 'dib. this is about the general financial (sub fee) and community support appreciation for those that have already.

it would just be nice not to focus on those with a free life and money to play constantly for that long and get a nod from ccp and thanks for sticking with it.

im not going to leave eve ever anyway and no amount or lack there of, gifts will change it.

i know a few guys that have been playing that long and its nice to be a part of it, but eve simply wouldnt be like it is without long time members putting in literally years of ground work.



Take this from someone who is also playing allmlost 10 years :


If the game was bad you wouldnt be playing it.So you play it because it is a good game and you pay for that service.CCP doesn't need to give you **** as they gave you the game you enjoy.


Let's turn this around , what did YOU give to CCP as a thank you for giving you the ability to play this game?Did you send them a card?


And besides that , who needs/wants a ''here's something useless for you now let us milk you for a few more years''-gift. It's a company if they give something as a thank you it just means they want to suck you dry some more.No company cares about customers , they care about profit wich means giving the customers the idea that they care about them.

Anything more or less then a pos revamp would not be the gift i would be looking for.

Those guys havent been unsubbed for a single day since the start... They deserved that thank you from CCP...

You get that station for the vets...and some other stuff I think too... You still get something as a ten year vet that others dont...

They were subscribed since 2003, not necessarily day 1...

I´ve been subscribed all that time aswell, except for one week where my bank kinda screwed up. Bleeeeeeh. And i was there :/

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

Don't feel too bad...I played in beta and have played all but a total of 3 months since then. I have had multiple accounts but always had at least 1 account active (except in those 3 months) and I won't get an invite. No big deal. I am sure there is nothing in the content I can't play EVE without.

You didn't have an active, paying account for the whole time so your not a 10 year old bitter vet. More like an 8 or 9 year old crying gimme and throwing a tantrum in public, so a slap is what needed and that's what you got. Well played CCP.

You can watch the stream online for about the price of a PLEX. In fact you can probably buy it WITH a PLEX. And you get a faction rookie ship and some clothing items with the purchase, which can be sold for a high price and will get you some of your ISK back.

As a 10 year player, you should at least have enough ISK or valuable possessions to get yourself a PLEX for this event.

Have been playing a little over 8 years, but not continuously, sometimes letting accounts go dormant for work, war, Life and that's cool.

I applaud CCP for recognizing the die-hards who've been here since "Day 1". Sure, it's just a game -- but it's still an achievement worthy of note and at least a little bit of respect from fellow pilots.
